Yup. If I remember right, they beat Seaver up pretty good and still lost the game. Ron Reed didn’t do squat. I think he won 18 that year and the pitching did nothing. That was the year they called it the wild wild west. I think right down to the last week all the teams in the west were still in the race. Braves, Astros, Dodgers, Giants, Padres. I think four of those were still right there till the very end. I cannot remember which finished last, but I think SD did.
