Ask A Stupid Question Day

Today is Ask a Stupid Question Day. It's your opportunity to speak up, and to ask all those questions you were afraid to ask. All those questions that you thought were too stupid or dumb to ask, have been piling up all year long. Today is the day to unload them. C'mon give it a try. Nobody will laugh......we hope.

This may be a stupid question, but I will ask it anyway...... Teachers and Employers say there is no such thing as a stupid question. Or, that no question is too stupid to ask. If this is true, then why do your classmates or co-workers laugh when you ask a question? Yes, people can be cruel. But, if you have a question, there's no better place to ask, than in the classroom or from your supervisor.

Today's Quote: "Stupid is as stupid does". Forrest Gump

Movie of the Day: "Dumb and Dumber"

Other "Stupid" stuff:

According to holidayinsights.com, "the roots of this special day goes back to the 1980's. At the time, there was a movement by teachers to try to get kids to ask more questions in the classroom."

Yeah, but they can be foregiven for that. Wendy’s is based in Ohio. Ohio is sort of like Canada, the 90’s did not arrive here until 1996 . . .

“Are we dead, or are we in Ohio?”

Fans of Animaniacs, and Buckeyes would know about the above.
(And.. I’m guilty, I’m a misplaced Buckeye..)

I do that all the time. You know, talk to the butcher and ask if they sell meat, hit the library and ask if there's any books in there. Always fun to ask a dumb question, a really dumb one. Like asking the math teacher," Look I'm planning to be an architectural engineer so when the heck am I EVER going to use the Pythagorean theorem or these dumb stress load formulas?"

Yeah, I know, cheap thrills, but it's so much fun!!...and it usually makes the person behind the counter or in front of the class a bit of something to smile about. Used to love the KSJO (San Jose) radio station that would give the same weather report for YEARS:

"AND THE WEATHER IS(pause to look??) STILL OUTSIDE..."

Of course the funniest thing about my post is why the heII did I wait until Saturday to post on the Friday Silliness Thread regarding stupid questions?

I miss that show. 3/4’s of the jokes were ones that only the parents were going to get, but there was still enough slapstick to keep the kids entertained. And I always thought the wheel of morality at the end was a nice poke at the do gooders insisting that all the kids shows had to be educational.

Hey Smarty, I’m sorry but this is a friday thread and you are not allowed to comment on a Tuesday. Now you’ve made me break the rules too. I hope we don’t get banned.
