The real answer is that nobody knows for sure. You will hear a lot of statistics quoted, but it is generally accepted that there are roughly 8,000 venomous snakebites in the US annually. Fewer than 15 of those are fatal
That’s probably closer to to the facts. Rarely are poisonous snake bites fatal.
A young (about six or so) girl was camping last summer where I have often camped and was bitten by a copperhead at that campsite. She survived.
