ANTIOCH - A word to burglars: Don't break into a building full of police officers undergoing training.
Two men learned the hard way in Antioch and ended up being arrested, police said today.
James Ayers, 26, of Bethel Island and Frederick Guilliee, 38, of Antioch broke into a vacant building at 1700 West Fourth St. about 6 p.m. Tuesday in hopes of stealing copper wiring, police said.
They had no idea that the Antioch police K-9 unit was due for a training session at the building, which once housed a cardboard-processing plant.

D'OH Alert! Before robbing a building, check to make sure there are no cops around.

Almost as good as 2 carjackers who carjacked 4 off duty cops on their way to the shooting range :-)

    It’s a good thing for them they weren’t cat-burglars...
This caper will earn both of them mastiff sentence, that’s for sure.

    True story.
I used to work in cop shops years ago. One day a carload of thugs drove down the street and spotted a car they believed belonged to a rival of theirs. They pulled up behind the car parked in front of the cop shop and started beating the heck out of it, breaking all the glass, etc.
The thugs didn't realize they were in front of a cop shop full of the latest recruit class in there buying their new gear. Instantly the cop shop emptied out into the parking lot and each thug had 3 or 4 eager cops hanging on and twisting everything that would twist. We liked to died laughing.

“..in hopes of stealing copper wiring, police said.”
Don’t bring dykes to a dogfight? Oops, did I say that?
They’d have been a lot better off if they had Akita the door. Obviously they weren’t the sharpeist tools in the shed. Now they’ll be hounded by the cops for days.

Please put me on the punners list.
 Cheers!
