She once spent more than £220,000 on a head-to-toe surgical makeover to make herself look younger.
But four years later - and having failed to secure the string of big-money parts she had presumably hoped to win - Demi Moore has decided to speak out against ageism in Hollywood.

She should have spent the money on acting lessons.

Maybe it’s because she cannot act.

Of course she could have moved into directing, producing, or writing. The problem is, you need talent for those, not properly shaped meat.

'I still can't get a Hollywood part' Oh, I dunno ... she got Ashton Kutcher's "hollywood part," didn't she"

For such an intelligent person she should have laid out a more ambitious career for when her somewhat ordinary if healthy looks began to fade.

I can look 40-odd for free! I don’t know why these ladies imagine all the surgery really makes them look younger.
She was quite attractive as a young woman, and not a bad actress, certainly as good as many other in the business.

She did produce the three Austin Powers movies (just noted for trivia purposes - I agree with what you wrote actually).

wasn’t she one of the producers of the “Austin Powers” movies??

It’s the classic story of a good looking “actress” in Hollywood.

Her problem is that the same Hollywood that she enjoyed success with in her youth, is STILL focusing movies on the younger audience of teens. They are doing the same thing that they have always done. Passing on actors as they age past their audience.
What she needs to do is find more roles that meet HER age and ability.
Or better yet, use her talent and keen insight and WRITE her own scripts. If she can’t, I am sure that kid she calls “hubby” will help her.

She had her chance to play the parts of young vivacious sexy women. Now that she is older she should look for parts for older somewhat attractive women, but those parts require great acting skills.

There’s just a big difference between looking good and looking “Hollywood” good, and I’m not sure there’s enough money in the world to buy back the latter once it’s gone. Now if Demi would go the Michelle Pfeiffer route and play evil witches, she might get all kinds of work - but she just isn’t going to get glamourous leading lady roles any more. The cut off is getting to be age 24 for those. ;)

She never had a young sounding voice. The talkies need more than youthful looks.
To: Perdogg
There simply aren't many parts for older women in Hollywood. That's just a fact. She should have prepared for this. And she probably did, at least financially. I'm not worried about her missing too many meals.
I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who would love to have her looks and fortune at her age. There are plenty of better things to do in life than act in stupid movies.

That “older” babe in American Pie shouldve won the Acadamy award. That was some fine acting.
