Her comment was crude and ugly, but I don’t understand the idea expressed on this thread that God will take offense and damn her for eternity. Shouldn’t God be at least as as forgiving as most people?

You don't mock God: Exo 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me". Exo 20:7 "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain".

God IS forgiving to those who seek forgiveness. We are all damned for eternity unless we seek His forgiveness and lead our lives as He has shown us the way.

God is not only a righteous God but a just God. We will answer for our sins at our judgment. This idea of God being a 'goody-two-shoes' type of deity who is willing to forgive all out of simple goodness is a complete misunderstanding/misconception of the Bible and God's Word.

Absolutely! As long as she asks Him to forgive her. Saying that the award is how her God is a little unrepentant wouldn’t you say?

So nothing matters to God either? So He must be a squishsy liberal “concept” with no standards as well? The Bible says otherwise. God will not be mocked.

The idea is expressed time and time again in the Bible - If you wish to live without God, He will grant it -- for eternity.

Forgiving if a person is truely repentent and ASKS for forgiveness.

She may have offended a lot of people, but in the larger picture it probably doesn’t mean much. Blasphemers have always been with us and always will. I don’t think the Lord will be greatly harmed. I mean, look, it’s a washed-up, third-rate cable TV comic going up against the One Through Whom All Things Were Made. I know where the smart money is on that wager.

God will forgive, but his forgiveness requires the sinner to turn to Him and ask for it. She condemns HERSELF with this outrageous statement. You know, every one is NOT going to go to heaven.

Of course God would forgive her but she has to repent and ask for His forgiveness first. I don’t see her doing that but with God, all things are possible.

God’s more forgiving than all people but you have to ask for it; He doesn’t just throw out blanket forgiveness.

Nor is He going to force Himself on anyone. If she wants to spit in His face and take her chances, that’s her prerogative, but she has no one to blame but herself if she doesn’t like the consequences.

That trophy may be her god, but she won’t be taking it with her. It’ll be her and nothing for eternity.

Your misunderstanding is common. God will give her what she wants ... She's freely chosen to reject Him. If she dies in that condition, she's going to get exactly what she asked for: Eternity separated from all Goodness.

Be careful what you ask for.

You might get it.

In my Bible it takes repentance to be forgiven.

1) She doesn't want forgiveness even though it is always there for the taking

2) She hates God. What makes you think she would want to spend eternity with Him? For her, Heaven would truly be Hell.
