Her comment was crude and ugly, but I don’t understand the idea expressed on this thread that God will take offense and damn her for eternity. Shouldn’t God be at least as as forgiving as most people?

The idea is expressed time and time again in the Bible - If you wish to live without God, He will grant it -- for eternity.

The idea is expressed time and time again in the Bible - If you wish to live without God, He will grant it -- for eternity.

But the idea is also repeatedly expressed that when you turn to God, He grants you eternal life, whatever your sins, even the apparently capital sin of making foolish remarks.

I just think the speedy rush to consider Kathy Griffin's eternal damnation, for ill-chosen words, is odd. God Almighty cannot be a moody teenager, holding grudges and enacting petty revenge. His mercy must surpass anything we can imagine.
