My dog smiles like that, too. She smiles every evening when her “snack” time comes. My husband gives her a treat every night before he goes to bed.

My husky mix used to get that same sort of goofy grin, and I’ve seen it on a fullblooded wolf before as well. They definitely smile and for the same reasons...all talk about instinct and seeing it as a threat be damned.

You’re welcome! Happy stories are far too few and far in between. After all the boatloads of stuff about animal abuse, horrible nightmarish things happen every day, we NEED to read a happy story to lift our spirits and remind us that life is filled with good and wonderful exchanges between animals and humans MUCH more frequently than the bad stuff that catches the headlines.
