Up here, it is called a “scrub pine”
They take a beating from the wind and weather of the sea..
Which is why sometimes you see the branches only growing on one side..

It was great having all you freepers up here in Maine escaping the heat, of course it got hot and hazy again right after you left.
A couple of Maine facts:
Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the Eastern seaboard, and the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, Maine, are the two points where the sun rises first in the US.
Somes Sound is the only fijord on the East Coast of the US.
Maine has some of the highest tides in the world.
There’s a lot of unique stuff found in the State of Maine. As a fellow “flatlander” I was constantly amazed for years as I made my daily discoveries.
And you didn’t even see any moose.

On our last day, we went to Land's End....
....to LL BEAN for shopping (YAY!!)...
...I got a Harley ride with Mr.B...
....and lastly, for a lovely birthday dinner for Ms. B together.
WHEW! It was a full day!!...and a wonderful trip together!
