A 49-year-old Seymour woman wants to change her last name to bin Laden.
Caren Ann Burke isn't saying why she wants the same surname as America's top terrorism target. She says she doesn't have to explain anything because it's a private matter.
Burke filed the petition last week. A hearing on the petition is scheduled in Outagamie County Circuit Court on October 12th.
On the petition she listed the reason for her request as - quote - "divorce from Rory S. Burke."
Court records show the couple divorced in 2005, and a judge at the time granted her request to keep her married name.
Burke listed her occupation on the application as unemployed. She paid a $155 filing fee for the petition and paid for the required legal notice in The Post-Crescent newspaper of Appleton.

She should be granted the name change if she is also willing to accept the consequences of carrying that name. People tend to shoot first then ask questions when they hear that Bin Laden is at the door.

Makes perfect sense. Look for her "bin Laden" name to turn up in the near future. Lets see...there will be the lawsuit against the airlines after she gets a little extra security attention, then there will be the lawsuit against some poor potential employer for profiling. The woman is running a scam.
