This is Jenny T. from the Refund Operations Department at Internal Revenue Service (United States Department of the Treasury).
After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $49.22.
Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 1-2 days in order to process it.
A refund can be delayed for a variety of reason. For exemple (invalid records or applying after the deadline). The good news is that Internal Revenue Service will make this refund directly to your visa and/or mastercard linked to your checking/savings account instead a check or a direct deposit.
To access the form for your tax refund, please continue to our secure server form at: https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetrefund.jsp
Important: Do not use credit and/or american express or discover cards. Only cards that are linked to your checking/savings account are accepted.

Should I forward it to my Nigerian banking specialist? Or answer her immediately?
This has got to be the refund for that unclaimed 1.666 million he was going to send me last year!
Forwarded to General/Chat.
Cool.
You know they could have made it more interesting than just $49. I think $493 would have been more compelling.
You just never know, some people still fall for the Nigerian stuff and some might fall for that e-mail.
Thanks for posting. Many people are victims of criminals. BTTT!
The IRS never emails.
A bunch of those are flooding inboxes but most spam filters are catching them for what they are. And I’ll bet that link that appears to go to the IRS ends up somewhere else.
mine was for $109.32.
So that’s where Hillary’s campaign money is coming from.
1) How did the IRS get your email? (I swear, I can’t believe anyone could possibly be dumb enough to fall for spammers, but then again, the Democrats won Congress, so stupidity is out there.)
2) What does your browser say (in the status bar) when you mouse-over the web link in the email? I’d send that domain name off to the IRS for a little, um... audit action.
<P.Ha ha ha, I am blonde, but not THAT blonde. I cannot believe that people still fall for crap like this.
Tell Jenny to credit it towards next year.
