Ladies and Gentleman, Peeps of All Three Sexes, the College football season is here!!!

Tonight's slate works out a little somethin' like this (Due to East Coast bias, all times are Eastern):

7:00 PM Buffalo at #16 Rutgers

7:00 PM Miami (OH) at Ball State

7:00 PM Southeast Missouri State at Cincinnati

7:30 PM Murray State at #10 Louisville

8:00 PM #2 LSU at Mississippi State

8:00 PM Kent State at Iowa State

8:00 PM Southeastern Louisiana at New Mexico State

8:05 PM UNLV at Utah State

9:00 PM Weber State at #24 Boise State

And in a few short hours, I'll be heading on a jet plane to the West for:

10:00 PM Utah at Oregon State

Break out a case of Pabst, throw some steaks on the grill, and find a foam finger, the season is here!

I had softball practice with an OSU fan yesterday...he was giddy!

And my nephew goes to App. He was at his apartment yesterday, and when they heard that App was up at halftime, they had to find somewhere to finish watching the game. Boone has got to be a mess this morning, and I don’t imagine it’ll get any better all week!

I just heard Tom Brady interviewed on the radio. He said his teammates put him through hell this past weekend.

I’m an Appalachian State alumni (1981)

Oh, happy day for you. Good article today by Mike Leopsti (NY sports writer) on the 3,333 ft high stadium.

In case you’re bored this afternoon...

Texas Tech/SMU is currently on ESPN and Bowden Bowl IX—Clemson/Florida State will be later.

Everyone on the OU team who isn't redshirting played in the second half, including all three quarterbacks, all four running backs who are healthy and all six WR's.

To be honest about it, a big part of those 79 points can be attributed to UNT playing a very basic and predictable high school defense that our freshman QB had no problem figuring out. Half of their new coaching staff were high skool coaches last year, and frankly it showed.

When you've got the third team in, running between the tackles and they still score, what else are you supposed to do?

I read in the newspaper that coach Stoops had even asked for a nonstop clock in the last quarter but the refs didn't do it. That's the first time I'd ever heard of such a thing and I have no idea if there's a rule that allows for it, but that's what one of our local sportswriters said.

LOL! Well, I remember the Sooners put up some pretty lopsided scores in the 2004 season......until they met the Trojans in the BCS Championship and were on the receiving end of a lopsided wallop! Perhaps, if we’re both lucky, we’ll meet again!

Of course it was no surprise that OU ran over a team like North Texas - they only won 3 games in their division last year so there are high school teams who could have beaten them!

Your quarterback looked good though - I'm sure OU will have a great season.

You can kiss Bobby Bowden good bye at the end of the year.

Can you believe the replay call? What BS!

Not that we deserved to win, but we should have had a shot at the end zone.

Watched only a portion of the Tech game today—I’m gonna try and re-watch it if ESPN’s going to re-air it tonight, but their offense looked impressive. Granted, it’s SMU, but you can’t go wrong with a win like that, despite the opponent.

I need to see if it’ll re-air sometime tonight on ESPN if I’m still awake.

I kept thinking through most of that game “Clemson is going to blow this, aren’t they?” Yet another game I’m going to try and re-watch so I don’t sound uninformed. :)

Well after becoming the first ranked Div I team in history to be beaten by a AA school, Michigan might.
