For me is it most anything Shiner and Sam Adams.
I sure miss Pearl and Lone Star Beer...and so do the armadillos.
Nothing goes with beer like some tits.
Do you (or anyone else on the Homebrewers ping list) have a recommendation for one of the many home brewing kits found on the Internet.
I would prefer one of the lessor priced kits. At least until I decide if homebrewing is for me.
No, not really.
I drink on rare (very rare) occasions, but not enough to have a favorite beer.
When I do drink, my favorite drink is Capt. Morgan and Diet Dr. Pepper. I know, not very high brow, but what can I say.
thanks—was gonna say blue velvet but wasn’t sure. Someone took dialogue from that movie and set it to some Peanuts
cartoon clips. It’s on YouTube—type Blue Peanuts into
search (you may need to verify your age as it has foul
language)
I have a Mr. Beer (www.mrbeer.com). It’s easy and makes good beer. It’s a good way to get started, I think.
Sorry ... not too big on Harp. But I’ll gladly take one o’ those traditional black & tans you mentioned. Is it quitin’ time yet?
Thanks for the info.
Looks like a simple (and cheap!) system to try and see if homebrewing is for me.
VILE YANKEE TAR!
don’t consign yourself to traditional ones, try something new..
guinness & blue moon: dark side of the moon
guinness & hard cider: snakebite or black magic
guinness & oberon: eclipse
guinness & smithwicks: dark tower
guinness & mikes hard berry: xerxes
quinness & killians: bloodclot
guinness & harp: half and half
guinness & mikes crisp apple: herm
guinness & corona: cinco de patty’s
at least i drink beer that tastes like beer, not something that tastes like the detroit river.
Has anyone ever heard of Samuel Adams’ “Double Bock”?
My neighbor insists that it is great, but I have never seen it anywhere and I have never even heard of ot from anyone but him.

Do yourself a favor and go for the extract kits to start. much easier, worry free and formulated for success.
As far as equipment goes, scrounge or modify whatever you can, after all, a big pot is a big pot, no matter what its original function. Glass carboys can be replaced by inexpensive plastic buckets with excellent results.
Other than that, some hoses, bottles and cheap accessories will round out basic kit.
On good way to start is by looking at Craigslist, I see starter kits or 50 bucks or so all the time on there.
Whatever you do, be sure to read How to Brew by Palmer, available for free on line here

Hit me up for advise anytime. I have been happily brewing for 25 ears and am quite good at it.
I am writing a new piece on extract and beginners brewing right now. Want to proof it for clarity for me?
Cheers,

its hard to find. only available in the first couple months of the year, not legal for sale in about a dozen states.
check the sam adams page for in depth detail.
it’s pretty smooth, and a bit sweet.
