Pink said to me recently, we've come a long way. So that set me reminiscing...
Who among us can forget that day in January when Girlene asked to be added to the Haditha Marine Ping List?
Or when lilycicero wondered what "ping" and "BTTT" meant (but hoped they were crude)?
Or when pinkpanther111 showed up and helped us find biographical material, or when she spread the word about the defense fund here and here?
All that got me thinking about some of our "firsts".
Like the first defense fund thread.
And the first posts by Darryl, Theresa (on our totally fun "A Haditha Marine Father Has a Question for Alan Colmes" thread), and Mrs W.
So I agree with pink (want to see her first post ever?), we have come a long way. And it's about time we said so! Also, with the SSgt Wuterich hearing coming up, I figured we could use a thread to just hang out when nothing else is happening. It beats FRmail--which sometimes gets a little hard to follow.
So here's to us and to seeing an end to this job we started!
HEY!! HAPPY 50th!! BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!! MANY MORE GOOD YEARS TO COME!
Yup, this beats the alternative.
Thanks, Mom.
I’ve decided to go for double or...something...anything...what a ride! :~)
This so funny. I hate that I missed out on all the fun.
What do you think of the green room parties?
Please notify me via FReepmail if you would like to be added to or taken off the Oregon Ping List.
I think this is great.
There you are! I will ping you to the fluffy stuff for now...you have enough going on.....and how!
Did I miss the party?
Happy Birthday Boats! Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, hehe. Just remember, growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
Hope you had a great day! We love ya!
Theresa and fam. :)
PS Darryl turned 55 today!
I did have a great day, thanks. I don't think of it as getting old (much less growing up!....ask anyone, lol), just starting a new era!
Tell Darryl Happy Birthday - May this year bring blessings of joy, tranquility, and closure to your family...along with a healthy and way overdue dose of satisfaction.
"The Defend Our Marines site deserves a freakin' Pulitzer for their tireless work"Black Five
This has been such a collaborative effort, I wanted to be sure you knew: we all deserve a freakin' Pulitzer in Uncle Jumbo's eyes!
Here's the whole piece on Black Five...
Cheers!
Thought you'ld like to see something I sent on at another thread, as it is pertinent to future actions I hope will happen:
Here is the operative clause:
Article 1 Sect. 6.
The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.
Speech and Debate takes place on the Floor of the respective Chamber, not in the Cloakrooms, Cafeterias, Press Offices, or Toilets. I would add any respective Committee Room, while in use on Authorised Congressional Business of a Committee.
But then, I'm not a lawyer, and even though English is my first and learned language, I'm sure some learned lawyer will again try to convince me I don't know what "is" is!
Thank you again, Red, for keeping us up to date and in the forefront of the activities from Anbar to Kirkuk to LeJeune to Pendleton and myriad points between -- quite a sweep your net has!
Great stuff, Red. Yes, I’d say the Defend Our Marines site deserves that kind of praise. Great job!
I second that nomination. And third, fourth, and fifth it, too.
It’s because you are sincere and honest (and of course a workaholic). High five Black Five.
I just realized this is the down low thread.....go KU!
(lily will tell you how many times that is)
The down low thread, lol. Go KU, Happy 50th 4wb, congrats to the freakin’ pullitzer award nominee (okay, it’s not official).
I sent the link to Don D. He’s convinced that we’re the only two who will end up in jail.
Uh oh, what did I forget to send you? Mind like a sieve....
Hey, it’s the closest I’ll ever come! (Wonder if a Freakin’ Pulitzer is different from a regular Pulitzer?)
Dangnabbit, I still haven’t found those consworned stirrups!
