Walk down memory lane when there's nothing in the news

Pink said to me recently, we've come a long way. So that set me reminiscing...

Who among us can forget that day in January when Girlene asked to be added to the Haditha Marine Ping List?

Or when lilycicero wondered what "ping" and "BTTT" meant (but hoped they were crude)?

Or when pinkpanther111 showed up and helped us find biographical material, or when she spread the word about the defense fund here and here?

All that got me thinking about some of our "firsts".

Like the first defense fund thread.

And the first posts by Darryl, Theresa (on our totally fun "A Haditha Marine Father Has a Question for Alan Colmes" thread), and Mrs W.

So I agree with pink (want to see her first post ever?), we have come a long way. And it's about time we said so! Also, with the SSgt Wuterich hearing coming up, I figured we could use a thread to just hang out when nothing else is happening. It beats FRmail--which sometimes gets a little hard to follow.

So here's to us and to seeing an end to this job we started!

Okay, jaz, here ya go. But starting out with beer might not be such a great idea for some of us lightweights. We'll be snockered before any news comes in. We'll start with rootbeer!



My offering even includes a deck of playing cards to help pass the time!

I was thinking of Go Fish (for all the obvious reasons), but you're idea sounds like a good one. I've never played Slap Jack, but I'm a quick learner.

I heard Paul Harvey mention Frank's hearing today. In other news, check out the picture that San Diego Union Tribune decided to use with the AP article. San Diego Union Tribune. Remember the FR thread where folks were discussing the picture? Discussion of the photo just kind of stopped. Wonder if there was ever anything to it.

I did not know there was such a thing. I would always wear my socks with flip flops (just to get the mail) in HI because the red dirt would stain your feet. So the locals would laugh and say, "Oh is it going to snow?" I could have said they were TABI!!!!

I admit I was wrong. It’s Bob’s Big Boy Blue Cheese dressing. I guess it’s a well known item. Who knew.

I got a couple of pair in Japan; they are built like mittens for your big toe so the thong doesn’t cramp your toes. Neat; my Bro & Sis-in-law got more when they were in Hong Kong.
