These two have always freaked me out.
So be it, but it is clearly against the Word of God to forbid it entirely. You'd think all the Sola Scriptura types around here would be beating their Congressman's door down to restore Godly principles to our marijuana laws.

They're about a billion dollars "dumber" than you or me."
Beat me to it, r9etb. Actually, I think it's a couple billion dollars.......they are an industry unto themselves: clothes, dolls, perfume, luggage, purses....
Spoken like a true Pharisee. They are no such thing.

And the same with opium?
Agreed. I do not believe the Bible forbids wine outright.
But it is beyond question that alcoholic beverages are the subject of many cautionary and disapprobatory passages in the Scriptures, while there is no such explicit warning about marijuana.
God Himself knows that marijuana is safer than alcohol. The Bible proves it.
Yes.

A couple of things ( and this is for Christians only) —
Civil legality aside, we shouldn’t get caught up in stuff that would have a “hold” over us—I know that’s not the best way to phrase it, but I’m not quite awake yet.
1 Cor 6
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
Christians are subject to obeying civil law—
Romans 1
1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
It’s not a salvatory issue by any means, but Christians should not be using illegal drugs because they are illegal and because of the effects.
Here is my take—
The Bible states, Everything is permissable, but not everything is profitable.
I think this is where God gave us common sense, Lets say, that a person is addicted to a drug, be it Nicotine, alchohol, food, sex, opiates etc. And then they come to Christ and accept Him as there savior. When did God save them? When they where still in there sin! Why? Because “there sins and lawless acts, I will remember no more!” Now it is time for God to deal with that person on the bassis of a new life in Him, and not the drug.
An addiction is exactly that, an addiction. It is not easy to put down, and I truly believe this is between God and the person. I say God, for God’s love brings us to repentance, so through Gods love and whooing of The Holy Spirit that lives inside the new believer, The new believer will sooner or later come to the point where he will no longer want the addiction. This is where the believer ask God for the will and the grace to quit. The believer may fall, but it is Gods busness, not mans. And God is able to hold him up, and wash him clean.
Think about it, if your sins kept you from God, then you would have never been able to recieve salvation. But your SIN, is what kept you away, and that SIN was unbelief, and now that the person believes and Trust, he is now in GOD’S hand, so the question of this thread is good, but it is mute!!
I suppose someone will watch this cr@p..
But who is advertising, who provides the money for this stuff?
Amazing - and no grace found here, I’m afraid.
Um...what are no such thing?
I had a friend in high school like this. Insisted weed, coke, and LSD helped him get closer to God.
He’s dead now. Of a drug-induced suicide. Turns out, he was probably just trying to justify his drug problem. Who’da thunkit?
Kevin? Is that you? You’re alive!
(see post 51)
The Olsen twins are just the latest examples of children sacrificed by their parents on the altar of Fame.
Weeds, is just more nonsense... We want to have a night time soap opera... but we have to make it “hip” “edgy”...

Crap.
Actually from evertying I have seen their parents were going out of their way to try to raise them grounded.... unfortunately though you get surrounded by yes men who undercut you.
Romans 13:12-14 - Cast off the works of darkness, walk properly, not in drunkenness. Make no provision to fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - People who are guilty of drunkenness, will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Or is it your position that you can smoke pot without getting stoned?
Man....I though it might be a funny show given the original plot........suburban mommy pot dealer...sort of
