That is odd that a major university’s stadium is not part of their campus.

Where the Rent is located, in what was the old airfield for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT, it is about 3-4 years-old. Also not far from the stadium is a new Cabelas store. This new store is very big. Has anyone heard of Cabelas? Anyone who posts on FR from Nebraska, where it first got started can be of great help. The new store will open up on October 19th.

It is odd but, what happened was that Connecticut was trying to get the NE Patriots of the NFL to move to downtown Hartford back in the 1990’s over at the soon-to-be-built Adrian’s Landing. But when that went down the drain, Pratt and Whitney Aircraft decided to step up to the plate since it had shut down the old airport and offered the State of CT some land to build the Rent for the UConn Huskies football team. At least it puts my hometown on the map for a change.

That is odd that a major universitys stadium is not part of their campus. It's not that odd when the university is located in a major city, that already has stadiums for professional football teams. It's a little different than say, Gainesville, which is a University town.

Has anyone heard of Cabelas?I have and Cabelas is perhaps the most unbelieveable sporting goods store you will ever witness. If you have a few days to kill, go to the original Cabela's store in Sidney, Nebraska. It will blow you away...

Columbia’s football stadium is at the very northern tip of Manhattan, about 80 blocks north of campus.
