MONTEBELLO, Quebec President Bush today sidestepped a direct question about whether he'd be willing to categorically deny there is a plan to create the North American Union.
Instead, he ridiculed those who believe that is taking place as conspiracy theorists.
The exchange came at a news conference held by Bush, Mexico's President Felipe Calderon, and Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who met at a resort in the rural woods outside of Ottawa, Quebec, to discuss their latest work on the Security and Prosperity Partnership.
After the trio presented their prepared statement about the SPP, several reporters who had been selected in advance were allowed to ask questions.
When it came time for a question from a Fox News reporter, Bush was asked if he would be willing to categorically deny that there is a plan to create a North American Union, or that there are plans to create NAFTA Superhighways.
"As you three leaders meet here, there are a growing number of people in each of your countries who have expressed concern about the Security and Prosperity Partnership. This is addressed to all three of you. Can you say today that this is not a prelude to a North American Union, similar to a European Union? Are there plans to build some kind of superhighway connecting all three countries? And do you believe all of these theories about a possible erosion of national identity stem from a lack of transparency from this partnership?" was the question, according to a White House transcript.
Reporters at the news conference said he sidestepped, instead adopting the tactic that those who are arguing the European Union model of integrating nations into a larger continental union is being used in North America should be ridiculed.

And the wizard said to Dorothy “Ignore the man behind the curtain”.
“...corporations are not doing this - the federal government is...”
Who is the federal government? Corporations have been the prime suspect in forcing the illegal immigration issue out of the public eye for so many years and otherwise the biggest lobby for non enforcement of our laws. The political correctness and multicultural movement of the left has been their handmaiden.
Bingo...and this thread is like bait to the right’s tinfoil crowd.
“I differ with the POTUS on some issues....but I am not a one issue parrot like some.”
If we lose the sovereignty and security of our country, there are no other issues.

sounds like you
re ready to press 2 for english.
Please point to ONE conspiracy theory that has EVER died.

The very real problem here is that americans die every day at the hands of illegals.
If he had clearly denied it would you have believed him?
sounds like everyone speaks english in your neighborhood.
I lend more credence to the WaTimes' interpretation of the same event.
This is what I saw on the thread list and it made me laugh. One article saying Bush denies superstate rumors and another saying he doesn’t deny the plans.

Sure ya are.
“Bingo...and this thread is like bait to the rights tinfoil crowd.”
That is so right. I can never repeat enough how stupid it is to question Bush or any big government plans. I find it totally amazing that not everyone is in lockstep with what Bush says. I mean, I keep a daily Bush quotes Log and read it every night before I go to bed. I especially love it when he attacks the super-duper hard right like when he attacked them for opposing the perfect new immigration bill....I mean I hate pro-immigration and some SCOTUS too but whenever Bush speaks all I can do is listen and bask in his great philisophical wisdom.
Not really. But I don’t equate Bush’s failure to control illegals to some super-secret merger of Canada, Mexico, and the US, either.
The powers that be ALWAYS create a (bad) situation first...so they can then march up to the mess and act as the savior....and then take away more of our rights and personal freedoms.
So, you let the illegal immigration situation get totally out of hand...where more US citizens have been killed by illegals than in Gulf War I and II during the same time period...and pretty soon the citizens will be screaming for something to be done. Since we live in a PC society...and it is considered uncouth to racially profile...this “battle” will end soon with a national ID card and / or biometric identifier with 100% surveillance for all.
Thus, they will have “won” the war.
Government always gets what it wants. We are herded into making “forced choices”.
If he’s representing the nation then we the people have something to say about it. He needs to grow a pair and bring it to congress where it can be rightfully killed by we who he claims to represent.
That was interesting. Thanks for the link!
Funny how people only hear what they want. Bush has been pro illegal immigration since day one. Rumors of him even waiving a Mexican Flag. How about this video.
