Holy Cow...well, I’m a Red Sox fan, but I say RIP...
and we do remember and enjoy his contribution to Paradise
by the Dashboard Light by Meat Loaf. “Here’s the throw!
Here’s the play at the plate! Holy Cow I think he’s gonna make it...”

Here’s a generation gap...
I knew him best as a shill for The Money Store. Wasn’t until years later that I found out he was a baseball player.
RIP Phil.

As a Red Sox fan who once was stranded in NYC for 7 years (a job), I came to respect the
Voice of the Yankees.
He was the core fabric that makes baseball fun for a fan.

Phil and Bill White were a terrific team of announcers for Yankee games. Sad news.

...sad day in pinstripe land, always a gentleman.
I used to get a kick out of his rocket departures from the announcers booth at Yankee stadium if there was any sign of lightning.....*grins*. Safe at Home Scooter!!

Grew up listening to Phil. Loved the restaurant and golf course recommendations in between (sometimes during) the play-by-play. People forget he was also a very good ballplayer in his day. God rest his soul...
