It’s a diverter for water control. It attracts fish and fish attract the birds.
You should get a world is round account or something so you could put all your photos out there for all to see. I’m limited by a cheap camera but I still enjoy photography and put lots of mine on WIR.
My first reaction, too -- it looks like an alligator (though I see from the response that it's really not).

Great photos. My sister is a professional but I suspect I take more pictures simply because I carry my camera around with me all the time. I just love my Michigan out of doors.
