Lie. He claimed "they would still be a niche maker of cheap hardware." How can you lie like that when the proof of your lie is just a few lines above it?
And he's right. Linksys was relegated to selling a few cheap hubs, cards and cables mainly through Fry's and Best Buy (both small chains at the time) until that router came out. That Linux router built up Linksys so much, selling millions of units, that they were worth half a billion dollars to Cisco only four years after its introduction.
To be fair, I did word it very poorly the first time I mentioned linksys the onus was on me to be more clear but in typical troll fashion he latched on to *one* word of the post to ignore the fact that Linux has helped many a business start..
