SCO stock today: At 3:59PM ET: 0.37 Down 0.07 (17.05%)
If it was your EKG, you’d be dead.
1.) Let’s see Novell owns Unix, and proved it in court.
2.) They bought it and decided NOT to develop it anymore, so they sold that part to SCO.
3.) Novell buys a Linux distro, and competes against Unix.
4.) And accuse Linux of destroying Unix?
You really don't have a clue do you???
That would be those that have been claiming Linux was going to replace Unix ten years ago in the server room, still not even close. Also those that claimed it was going to replace Apple on the desktop the last couple years, when web counters such as w3schools, net applications and the counter all show Linux use going DOWN. Have you even seen the Apache vs IIS chart at netcraft lately? Wow, open source has been taking quite a beating lately, but you can go back to celebrating the win by Microsoft's open source partner LOL.
You obviously don't, but people with higher principles than their own selfish desires are careful about where they shop. Some of us don't buy anything with a "made in china" sticker for example. We also don't buy seats at Bill Clinton fundraisers just because he's a good speaker. Others lack such principles and are more than eager to send their money to foreign countries to buy cars, computers, etc. or download some foreign clone software for free instead of buying the American original. They have no allegiance to America, their only true allegiance is obviously to themselves.
You obviously don't, but people with higher principles than their own selfish desires
IOW, buy inferior products because you don't like the competition. You are exactly like those who don't buy Microsoft because they don't like the company. I admit I do let such things influence my buying habits sometimes, but I don't dislike Microsoft or Adobe enough for their horrid actions to keep me from buying. Sofware is too important to me, so you have to do a lot to keep me from buying the best software
Others lack such principles and are more than eager to send their money to foreign countries to buy cars, computers,
You do realize that almost all computer parts are made by foreigners, right? About the only thing we make a lot here are chips, although both Intel and AMD do have massive foreign fabrication operations.
or download some foreign clone software for free instead of buying the American original
Again, you say this to someone typing on a Mac, and whose Linux usage is a small percentage of his overall personal computer use. As I've said, Linux has never even been my primary OS. Even if your claims were valid, they still don't apply to me.
BTW, Linux: US-managed and mostly US-written. Windows Vista: US-managed with many parts written in foreign countries.
No, avoid leftists that want to replace businesses with a software tax. Avoid foreign clones of our already existing and better products. Avoid giving free technology to foreign governments. Avoid supporting foreign criminals who hack and crack our intellectual property. All of which you have supported on this site, including with lies purposefully made up with the intent to deceive. That is the record, clear as day. You're much worse than any names I have called you LOL.
Unfortunately for you, your position requires you to be hypocritical. You can get open source software from leftists for free, and even cost them bandwidth money. Or you can buy Microsoft, where some of your money goes to Gates' liberal causes, including Planned Parenthood, and gets shipped overseas through United Nations programs.
Financially support leftist causes, or get free stuff on the backs of leftists. What a quandary for you. I don't share your philosophical view, so I don't have this problem.
Avoid foreign clones of our already existing and better products.
So you're on the "Linux is foreign" side of the fence now. BTW, that's only the kernel. Most of the rest of the OS is of American origin.
Avoid giving free technology to foreign governments.
Whoops, hopped back to the "Linux is American technology" side of the fence. This is the fastest I've ever seen you do that. Make up your mind.
BTW, how much did Gates give India, $400 million? Plus a look into the Windows source for the Chinese -- who are known to copy everything they see.
Avoid supporting foreign criminals who hack and crack our intellectual property.
Criminality is still your wholly unsupported claim. You have provided absolutely zero evidence that their actions were criminal.
All of which you have supported on this site, including with lies purposefully made up with the intent to deceive.
How shall we categorize the large number of your proven lies I've discovered? I caught you in one just the other day ("remember, making up lies that Russian hackers worked for the US Department of Defense?"), and you repeated it several times without retracting it, even after I corrected you.
And don't forget the recent lie in this very thread, "Linksys which has barely used Linux in their product lines and the 1 part number that had it the 54G". I referenced proof of a large swath of product lines other than the 54G (even other than the whole WRT series) that used Linux. You never retracted, so we leave that as a proven lie, too.
I'd like to see you actually answer these points, instead of picking out a few words to go on a rant, ignoring the actual issues.
great! then we can look forward to the end of your chicken little rantings about how Linux is destroying UNIX companies.
Have you even seen the Apache vs IIS chart at netcraft lately?
Funny, you have for years questioned the reliability of netcraft when used to cite the fact apache did (and still does) have not only more than Microsoft but a *majority* of sites hosted. Not that MS is picking up some steam they appear to be good enough for you.
Wow, open source has been taking quite a beating lately
Hmmm SCO loses and Novell says they have no interest in suing Linux and that there is no UNIX in Linux... Firefox still continues to grow! oh yea its an awful time for OSS... /sarc
Well hope springs eternal...
Here stupid read this:
“We’re not interested in suing people over Unix,” Novell spokesman Bruce Lowry said. “We’re not even in the Unix business any more.”
And THEY OWN it, so crawl back in your hole and shut up!!!
The 10 year picture is even better. From over $100 to under 40 cents. It is amazing how a business plan based on suing everybody around you plays out.
Yeah we know, whacko green party leftist Richard Stallman owns more rights to Linux distros than anyone. Why you so strongly support it is the question.
proven lies
You're the one who admitted to lying on purpose for months, defending foreign criminals in fact. Not to mention your constant attacks on Republicans, and even Christians which never ends either. Nothing I've ever done could touch your evil, and never will.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Have you even read the GPL?

Yes, they are also violating the purity of our precious bodily fluids!
You don’t know anything about stallman if you don’t think he’s a leftist. Go to his website, he links the green party website right across the top.
It doesn't matter. The free software movement is if anything implemented socially and by code in a bottom up fashion, which is the opposite of command and control communism. Stallman doesn't own the code and he can't say who can use it. For every RMS there is an ESR who is a hard core gun loving libertarian.
You're not getting away with the misdirection. Address the issue of your two documented, proven recent lies that you've refused to retract despite being told the truth and given the chance to do so.
You obviously haven’t been keeping up with tech lately, stallman is more well known now than ever, and is a much bigger force than just Linux with his new GPL3. This moonbat wants to turn US intellectual property laws on their head, and replace software companies with a “software tax”.
