GE defended Phelps before

No I didn't, I had never even heard of them when you out of the blue falsely accused me of being associated with them. They're apparently one of your favorite fringe groups you like to bring up when you are attacking true Christians.

Defending foreign criminals who hacked their OS to run on non-Apple computers is obviously an attack on Apple

Unless you can demonstrate the criminal action, they are not criminals. One very *American* thing is the presumption of innocence.

Heck he even tried trotting out the “180 day rule for criminal prosecution” to defend those foreign hackers

We are a nation of laws are we not?

Your denials are no better anyway, you started the BS on this thread of course and are known to create whole threads with bogus information such as claiming all support for Windows 2000 has ended even though it goes till 2010

You have been warned and banned many times for thread hoping I would not jump back up on the mods radar if I were you.

See post 35, I manned up and admitted I could be wrong.. And, if it gives you warm and fuzzies, Ill say it out right. I was wrong. Can we now address that Google, RedHat and many other industry leading companies would not exist were it not for Linux?

You peacefully disagree on religion because agreement on Linux is apparently more important.

Telling him he is going to go to hell is not peaceful ecumenical disagreement. Beating him over the head because he read the DCMA and knows the 180 day provision is not witnessing to him.

You want to claim the Christian card! start witnessing to people not yelling at them.

Whatever, I’ve just seen you go off constantly on Catholics and Mormons for not being true Christians, yet ignore antiR’s attacks on true Christians apparently because you both support Linux. Not sure why else you give his atheism a pass, when according to your posting history being a Catholic or Mormon is deserving of attack. How about manning up and explaining that instead of crying to the moderator for once?

Whatever

Hmmm yes, I can see how important witnessing is in your Christian walk.

I’ve just seen you go off constantly on Catholics and Mormons for not being true Christians

True about Mormons and I am in no small number in that belief. Ill leave the specifics for a religion thread but there are some beliefs they have which put them seriously at odds with Christianity.

About catholics? I have said I am sure some of them are saved I just believe some of their tradition based dogma takes away from Christ and can lead some astray.

Its funny that you demonstrate what a deranged stalker you are, following me and AR around to all kinds of threads to which you would not otherwise visit..

, yet ignore antiR’s attacks on true Christians apparently because you both support Linux.

I dont ignore them and I have addressed it with him he knows my view and were I to see him on a theology thread I would deal with him like any other. BTW Phelps is no true Christian.

Not sure why else you give his atheism a pass

I dont, But if he says 2 and 2 is four I'm not going to rant on him for being an Atheist. Christ sat at a table and ate with sinners and the pharisees chastised him for it. Lets extend this analogy and see who is trying to be Christ like...

when according to your posting history being a Catholic or Mormon is deserving of attack.

On theology threads I deal with theology on tech threads I deal with tech funny that way no? BTW for all your blubbering about my rampant anti-Mormonism I have never once said I wont refrain for voting for a Mormon because of their religion, I have also said they are dang nice people but they are not Christians.

How about manning up and explaining that instead of crying to the moderator for once?

Good enough?

No not at all, his attacks against Christians are hardly limited to phelps, phelps is just an extreme case he likes to cite occasionaly in his smears of true Christians. You can keep attacking Mormons and Catholics yourself, but letting atheists slide if they happen to support Linux if you want, but don’t think it’s not strange or not noticed.

And were I to see them I would address them in kind.

You can keep attacking Mormons and Catholics yourself

Why thank you for your permission, Ill continue to debate theology on theology threads.. And you'll continue to stalk me wherever I go..

but letting atheists slide if they happen to support Linux if you want

I have never done that, infact I got into it with someone who I usually agree with on the tech thread so badly we nearly stopped talking altogether..

LOL You completely miss the point mentioned above "Christ sat at a table and ate with sinners and the pharisees chastised him for it. Lets extend this analogy and see who is trying to be Christ like..."

Im going to call you out, I seriously doubt you're a Christian:
* You show *NO* fruits of the spirit
* You do not reach out to non Christians
* You're seem completely disinterested in theology threads with the exception of following around people whom you disagree with on a particular software license
* When someone tried to make amends with you as a Christian you refused.

You bring out the Christian card to bash people *ON TECH THREADS* yet you are not to be found on threads about persecuted Christian abroad, Theological discussions, Issues that face Christians in the world, or even ecumenical chit-chat. Sure you might plant your butt in a pew once a month or so but you defiantly have problems with your walk, if you're walking at all..

I had never even heard of them when you out of the blue falsely accused me of being associated with them.

You are incorrect. I stated that the way you rant reminds me of them. You have this one chance to retract your false claim.

They're apparently one of your favorite fringe groups you like to bring up when you are attacking true Christians.

Stay clear of the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy. They are an example of what extremists of any group, even groups that are currently generally civilized, are capable of.

There you go again, attacking true believers while giving those that are forcefully opposed to Christianity a free pass if they like Linux. I never claimed to be a perfect Christian but at least I have my priorities straight.

The only thing I would say to you on that is Phelps is not a Christian

That's the problem. Who gets to define "Christian"? There are a lot of protestants who don't think Catholics are Christian, do we let them define? Do we let the Christian homosexuals say that people who don't like homosexual marriage can't be Christian? Or do we accept that homosexuals by definition can't be Christian? Can you be Christian and support the death penalty? Maybe Phelps cares so deeply about the danger homosexuals pose to our country that he is trying to protect us from damnation by ridding us of them (yes, warped IMHO, but the guy really believes he's doing the work of God).

I can definitely accept that their actions are not Christian in the way I see the religion, or in the way that you or any of my Christian friends see it. But then nobody gave us the power to proclaim with definitive authority who is or is not Christian (unless maybe you're a strict Catholic, then the Pope can, in your opinion).

AR,

That fallacy holds to a point. e.g with a Scotsman you can say by lineage he either is or is not. So if I said not true Scotsman is 100% German I would be correct. If we look at Christians there is a much fizzier line but there is a line non the less.

There are parts of Christian belief that are a must, deny these you deny the person of Christ and cease to be a Christian (though you may still be a nice guy and one heck of a line dancer). Then there are other points of debate which while interesting and heated is not an issue that should cause a party to leave or be removed from the church.

Example of the former: The nature of Christ is he (a) Devine, (b) eternally God from and for all time, (c) part of the triune God? If you say not he was not, you’re not a Christian.

Example of the later: The persistent virginity of Mary, If you think after the birth of Christ she had relations (as would seem to be indicated by Mark) it does not take away from the nature of God or Christ just as if you believe she abstained for her whole life.

Go dig it up, you brought up some cult and said I was probably in it, and then like today tried to claim I was defending them when I never even heard of them LOL. Typical lies, attacks on Christians etc we’re used to from you, there’s nothing left to this discussion but more of the same obviously.

Yes they are in order Country, Microsoft, God... Something seems screwy

I am not attacking you I am calling you out and were I to so lose focus on Christ that the GPL and communism were my focus I would hope one of my brothers or sisters in Christ would call me out. I submit to the Church, and the the elders of my church. You can accept reproof or act as a fool. go read proverbs tonight

For you to think about: “A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.”
And for me:"Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words."

AR,

I am no theologian and I will do my best to address this post, then well table it for a religion thread..

“That’s the problem. Who gets to define “Christian”?”

Christ, but in lew of him handing me a Christian detector we have to look at scripture:

Generally if you follow a heresy your not a Christian e.g.

# Adoptionism- God granted Jesus powers and then adopted him as a Son.
# Albigenses- Reincarnation and two gods: one good and other evil.
# Apollinarianism- Jesus divine will overshadowed and replaced the human.
# Arianism - Jesus was a lesser, created being.
# Docetism- Jesus was divine, but only seemed to be human.
# Donatism- Validity of sacraments depends on character of the minister.
# Gnosticism - Dualism of good and bad and special knowledge for salvation.
# Kenosis - Jesus gave up some divine attributes while on earth.
# Modalism - God is one person in three modes.
# Monarchianism - God is one person.
# Monophysitism- Jesus had only one nature: divine.
# Nestorianism - Jesus was two persons.
# Patripassionism - The Father suffered on the cross
# Pelagianism - Man is unaffected by the fall and can keep all of God’s laws.
# Socinianism - Denial of the Trinity. Jesus is a deified man.
# Tritheism - the Trinity is really three separate gods.

There are *alot of them* Then there are other things which may cause disagreements but dont rise to that level (Pre-Vs port Tribulation Rapture for example).

“Do we let the Christian homosexuals say that people who don’t like homosexual marriage can’t be Christian?”

Given that there is explicit scripture in the old and new testament condemning homosexuality as sin no.

“Or do we accept that homosexuals by definition can’t be Christian?”

Practicing, unrepentant sinners are likely not Christian the goes for murderers, homosexuals, and tax cheats.

“Can you be Christian and support the death penalty?”

Sure, you might be wrong but it does not change the nature of God.

“Maybe Phelps cares so deeply about the danger homosexuals pose to our country that he is trying to protect us from damnation by ridding us of them”

Phelps feeds on hate, thats unchristian, Phelps also says his church is the only church and thats a *BIG* red flag. I love my church and my pastor but if I walked in there tomorrow and he said ‘only the baptist church has elect in it I would seriously think about leaving on the spot, short of that I would address it with an elder.

“But then nobody gave us the power to proclaim with definitive authority who is or is not Christian”

Of course we cant say with authority who is, but we *can* say who is not. e.g. OBL is *not* a Christian..

Say whatever you want but your actions show your true being, and that is you attack other Christians but give atheists a pass if they like Linux.

If I were to show you a post where I got into it with a Linux/OSS supporter would you finally shut up about it?

I told AR on this very thread his belief system will lead him to hell is that giving him a pass.

What do you suppose sitting and eating with sinners was like would you have burst in and, like the pharisees, condemned Christ for the company he kept? If you're so concerned about me speaking the truth about Mormons and debating Catholic on theological points I look forward to seeing you on more thread of that kind.

The day you attack antiR as rudely as you attack other Christians we’ll know agreeing on Linux isn’t the pinnacle factor of your relationships.

The day I see the need because I cant speak in love to him I might.. The day you stop only going to religion threads while following around people from the tech threads your opinion might hold some weight..

As I said, I like Apple because they make good products. I will cease liking Apple if they cease making good products. To me the quality of their products outweighs their ethical lapses, such as threatening people who are engaging in (IMNSHO) fair use of copyrighted materials.

I also like Adobe, and they have four figures of my money too. I also criticized them for having a programmer arrested for working for a company that makes legitimate software that the FBI itself bought (acquitted, BTW).

You are the one trying to assign some kind of loyalty to companies, a kind of enslavement status where afterwards you are not allowed to criticize the almighty corporations no matter how unethical their actions. No wonder you're so beholden to Microsoft, just as badly as the Stallmanites are beholden to him.

Sorry GE, but unlike you and them I will let neither a software vendor nor a demagogue tell me how to think.
