This is what political correctness gets you, pure and simple.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just put the kids in bulletproof vests? After all, many schools don’t let them carry back packs during the day, and the back back would only protect them from behind, unless they had time to react and pull the bag in front of them.
And if the shooter is within a few feet, they will notice the kid holding the backpack up in front of them.
Then there’s the point that the child is much more likely to be killed getting to or from school than to ever be confronted with a gun-wielding criminal while holding their backpack.
Bring back metal lunchboxes so the kids can go on the offensive.
