Suspect is charged in three Newark murders (Illegal Alert)

In a courtroom filled with family members, Jose Carranza pleaded not guilty this morning to three counts of murder, attempted murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and weapons possession in the execution-style murders of three college students behind a Newark elementary school Saturday night. Carranza, 28, of Orange, wearing an orange jumpsuit, showed no emotion as he sat in court with his hands cuffed and communicated via a Spanish-speaking translator. Families of both the suspect and the victims filled the courtroom, though they said nothing. Mayor Cory Booker, Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow and Sheriff Armando Fontoura were also in court. Carranza's bail was continued at $1 million. After the proceeding, sheriff's officers escorted the victims' kin out of the courtroom. Then, Carranza's mother and brother were led out. None spoke with the press. Assistant Prosecutor Thomas McTigue disclosed that there is an immigration detainer on Carranza. Carranza's attorney, Felix Lopex-Montalvo said his client is undocumented, an illegal immigrant from Peru. Carranza, who lives in Orange with his wife and a daughter described as 1 or 2 years old, was facing two sets of criminal charges even before police identified him as a suspect in the Newark triple murder. Court records show he was charged with aggravated assault and weapons counts stemming from a bar fight last October. In the more serious case, he was charged under an alias, Jose Larchire, with repeatedly raping a girl over a four-year period. The assaults began when the child was almost 5 years old, according to an indictment handed up last month. The alleged attacks ended in January. Carranza was free on bail and awaiting trial in both criminal cases when he turned himself in Thursday.

I’m not sure that the blame should belong to the feds in this case or in alot of these cases. This creep here was indicted on some pretty serious crimes and was free on bail. Newark should’ve made sure that he was locked up, tried, and served his time before he is handed over to the feds to deport. Alot of states and municipal gov. don’t hand over to the feds as a matter of policy.

I think there are 2 issues here that muddy the waters and make it hard to really solve the problem.

1. we should be more outraged that this creep was free on bail for a heinous crime and had a long rap sheet. He should of been in jail awaiting trial or in jail for previous crimes. The fact that he was illegal is secondary.

2. every time there’s an issue involving illegals, we throw are hands up and shout, ‘Bush’s fault!’ , when in a lot of instances the state and local government do not give the Feds a chance to enforce the laws. This issue needs to be addressed locally and nationally and we need to start looking at incremental solutions that may take awhile. And we must understand that the vast majority of illegals are here to work, suck up our social services, and make a better life for their families.

SHOCKING - Finally Foxnews.com is reporting that Fox 5 in NYC is reporting more details...

“Saturday’s developments follow a shocking turn in the investigation Friday. On Friday, FOX 5 New York reported that two of the victims may have been sexually assaulted before they were killed by an illegal immigrant with a violent criminal history.”

"According to FOX 5 New York, a sexual attack may have occurred before Terrance Aeriel, Iofemi Hightower and Dashon Harvey were shot to death, and a fourth victim, 19-year old Natasha Aerial, was critically wounded.”

What is shocking is that this is reported as a “shocking turn of events” when it is in reality merely an unreported original element of the story. I for one am getting very sick of “innoculation journalism” especially when it comes to illegal alien crime. They just dribble out the facts over several days so as to not stir up the citizenry.
