The felons shouldn’t be here in the first place. GWB wants criminal aliens here, and then wants to deport them after the fact? Seems irrational to me.
Deport them? Since we have open borders, what is to stop them from coming right back to the good ol’ U.S. of A. and committing more crimes? (Not a hard task, as thousands have already proved.)
IMHO, deportation is meaningless until the border is 100% secured.

It would be irrational if you had it right. The idea was to close the border, AND find the felons at the same time, and deport them. You all were screaming to close the border FIRST which was just what Bush wanted Congress to do. Congress failed. If they’re already here, and they ARE already here, then deport them. At the same time, Congress should stop porking up the budget to get re-elected, and FINANCE the rest of the fence.
