The felons shouldn’t be here in the first place. GWB wants criminal aliens here, and then wants to deport them after the fact? Seems irrational to me.
Deport them? Since we have open borders, what is to stop them from coming right back to the good ol’ U.S. of A. and committing more crimes? (Not a hard task, as thousands have already proved.)
IMHO, deportation is meaningless until the border is 100% secured.

It would be irrational if you had it right. The idea was to close the border, AND find the felons at the same time, and deport them. You all were screaming to close the border FIRST which was just what Bush wanted Congress to do. Congress failed. If they’re already here, and they ARE already here, then deport them. At the same time, Congress should stop porking up the budget to get re-elected, and FINANCE the rest of the fence.
IIRC, the Willie Horton ad was both accurate and effective. The lesson of the ad is that it was a good ad. When the libs squeal, yer over the target. Isn't that true?
You are absolutely right, Huck. And that effectiveness is precisely why the libs hurl the racism charge. My point is still that those charged with racism are not anxious to draw the charge again, even if it is a specious charge.

I agree. That’s why I put nation of immigrants in quotes. I am mocking those who feeeeeel that way. I expected similar sarcastic comments and mine would just be one of several. It’s not at all uncommon on these threads to mock such feeeeeeeeelings.

Yes, that's the count now. But it was something like 80% - 90% screaming "bigot! racist!" at anyone who opposed ILLEGAL immigration until a couple or three years ago. What changed I wonder? The type of alien that's sneaking in now? More reporting, less hiding facts? More, Press 1 for. . . .
