LOL re the crochet. I'm still working on that baby afghan (gift) and took a big break from writing yesterday to join a bunch of the squares together. Its about halfway assembled now. After that it needs a border. Then I need to work on something for Big'ol. Every gift blanket I start he says, "Where's mine?" :( I suppose after hanging out with him for a decade, I owe him an afghan. So I picked up a really nice wool-blend boucle that was on a super duper sale. But I can't think about that until December.

Mmm...wool-blend...

I think my big problem is that I walked into a fabric / craft store the other day in search of something completely unrelated, and something in my brain said, “Ooooh, yarn! I should get my crochet stuff back out!”

I’m just doing a very simple afghan, adapted from a very simple baby blanket pattern. One color. No afghan hooks involved, no squares. But it’s not likely to be done even by Christmas, so why am I doing this to myself?

Oh, that yarn is vey nice!! Before we got married, SirKit made a Hope Chest for me out of some redwood his Dad had left over from a job site. As a matter of fact, I keep my embroidery and crochet things in it. I made a HUGH afghan for him that was basically black, with variegated colored zig zags in it. That’s the only blanket I’ve made for him, but we did have it on our bed for the longest time.
