Beautiful, but would you say dignified? I’ve always thought the Harlequin ones looked like huge goofy clowns.
I’ve never seen a Great Dane that DIDN’T look big and goofy, no matter the coloring. When I was young, some folks a couple of streets over from us had a Great Dane, and it got loose and wandered into our yard one morning. I’d never seen it, because they usually kept him in their back yard, but when I looked out the window and saw it in our yard, I first thought it was a small HORSE.
The tan ones with the black points, or the solid black ones, can look pretty dang serious when they are standing at attention. Ears up, eyes sharp... looking right at you. Not UP at you... AT you.
Course the effect is blown when they start to move. ;~)
We had a neighbor that had one too... and it also got out. Zulu, bless her heart, was going ballistic at the front window. Hysterical barking, little 20 pound dog acting all tough because there was glass in between them. That dog came up to the window with the blankest curiosity, not intimidated or aggressive, just “HI!” (she was not a real bright dog) and stood up and put her feet on the window and looked in. She must have stood six feet tall.
I think Zulu wet herself.
LOL!
I think a lot of those bigger breeds are a lot more ferocious looking than they really are. They don’t have to be aggressive to be scary when they’re that size. Or if they just look “tough”.
I’ve decided I want a boxer some day. In spite of the goobers issue.
He would be puppy chow before he got half way done breeding such a thing.
Blitz liked shrimp. His mom and dad would often bring a doggy bag (lol) back from dinner and throw shrimp in the air for Blitz to catch. He jumped higher than I am tall.
True.
Unless he was Hagrid or sumpin.
Ug, too much lunch.
zzzz
Ug. 3 1/2 hour meeting to talk about a meeting...
Kill. Me. Now.
Two words, ‘hip flask’
But then you’d never write the Great American Novel. You’ll just have to channel the suffering into your art.
Oh no! Heh heh!
I’m fixin’ chili cheese fries out of some leftover french fries, grated cheddar cheese and some Wolf Brand Chili.
LOL! Poor pup!
Just don’t tell the food police. lol
Heh heh! OK!
Man, it’s dee-lish, though. My family’s not big into fries...but you know a lot of times we end up with fries that came with a meal and substitutes aren’t any better. So I bring them home and at a later date, I dump chili and cheese on them and broil them in the broiler till nice and melty.
Mmmm!
In other newz...Jr. got himself another job.
Similar to what he’s doing. But the manager is familiar with the church and the show and is willing to work with his rehearsal/performance schedule.
So, there’s that.
Good for him! That definitely counts as the adult way to handle a situation!
Seriesly from what you’ve said of how he handled the car situation and now this, it sounds like he’s making nice steps toward that whole “responsibility” thing.
Yeah, I’m proud of him for taking the initiative to do something about it.
Did I tell you I was going to be giving flu shots? At one point during Hair’s visit I had to do training for it.
Anyway, it’s with the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps (I’m a volunteer) and the Tulsa Health Department. It was actually a drill...what would we do in case of a biological attack or massive outbreak of some sort of epidemic and we needed to dispense to the public FAST. But we just used free flu vaccines to practice.
We had folks driving through getting flu shots in their cars! They’d just roll down the window and I’d give ‘em a flu shot! I had an assistant that checked their paperwork, she say “They’re good!” and pop! I’d give ‘em a shot!
I bet I gave 500 flu shots! Here is some news footage of it...
If you can see the video, tell me about...I haven't seen any video of it and my computer's too slow for it to load.
And along the same line, speaking of volunteering...my other disaster relief group is in California. I wish I could go, but I really need to work.
