The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I’m stealing whole chunks of “A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream” for my story.

I was "Peter Quince" in college. Mrs. was "Hyppolyta"

Having eggnog in my coffee for the first time this year.

Mmm...eggnog.

I think there’s a rule that almost any amount of Shakespeare can be added to almost any story. So that doesn’t count. ;-)

You haven’t really read Shakespeare unless you’ve read it in the original Klingon...

Heh...yeah, Klingon is such a musical language...

Halp! My muse will not let me do any work.

On the other hand Shriner ninja teams make everything better. Can I make it so there were two secret socities out watching him and neither knew about the other one? Hmm, Shriners Ninjas versus Rotery Commandos?

Uh oh, the crazy old guy just turned out to be a dark matter vampire. This will complicate things a bit.

Do something productive! I mean work related...

It’s half your fault that I’ve had to rewrite most of my plot in the last three days so I’m not too sympathetic.

I got asked about my plot yesterday and the three sentence description got laughed at. I think Faeryland sounds silly. I had to explain it was like the Shakespeare variant and that it was actually a soap opera for people to get what I am trying to do.

And that was *before* I came up with the Jane Austen Historical Re-creation Society.

What about an Elk’s Lodge. They can blend in with woodland creatures, plus they have route-clearing appendage things on their heads.

Noooo, it was the two sentence description. You said something to the effect of, 'It is about fairies. There is a lot of crossing over.'

My fault? All I did was suggest an evil half brother. Those make everything better.

Elk’s Lodge ninjas?

We have a Moose Lodge back home. I’m thinkin’ they might not be as good at stealth.

There is a lot of crossing over...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

That’s not quite what I said.

But it is a hard plot to synopsize.

True. And if you accidentally run into one, it’s liable to kill you.
