Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Perzackly.
Another of my favorite eye-and-ear candy type movies.
Oh dear...
Actually no, my brain seems to be frozen.
Yep, and it’s got sorceror’s and witches in it...
The Bible.
Example 1 is king David, example 2 is Tamar who was an ancestress of Jesus by Judah, and example 3 is Saul, later Paul.
Unnghh...
I need a brain defibrillator.
Oh, well I caught aflame last time I touched a Bible, so I didn’t know. (kidding, don’t zot me)
That’s ok :)
The thing is, most of the people who decry the Harry Potter books are people who should know their Bibles well enough to get that sort of reference but they never seem to.
As an avowed Bible-thumper myself (albeit of the heretic-ish Calvinist bent, which both the Catholic and the Evangelical Harry Potter haters would look askance upon) I get a bit too much amusement poking that kind of ant hill.
Oh, yeah, and Bible literacy is cultural literacy. Don’t let non religious inclinations stand in your way of knowing references like David and Bathsheba or a “road to Damascus conversion”.
I read the first 4 HP books, don’t really have the time or money for it now. I was raised Catholic originally, long since lapsed now but I get your point, especially since many politicians seem to be having “on the road to Damascus” type conversions now.
uh oh, did I kill the thread?
No, thread killin’ takes at least an hour...
Good, just making sure I didn’t scare everyone away.
No, me ‘n g’nad got that covered for ya...
One key to good project management is consistent management of message, marketing the product, keeping everyone focused on a couple specific goals. These guys don't *get* it. Now they're completely annoyed with me because I'm pulling their plug because their work conflicts with the objectives of BIGPROJECT and the users of the data are getting all sorts of confused messages now. Thanks for making my day... knuckleheads.
There's only so much damage control I can do today. Dang it. Someday I'll learn not to fret all weekend about this kind of knuckleheadedness.
You guys just stink things up enough we have to let the air clear for a while...
So tell me, y'all...do y'all write out your outline or just take notes and wing it from there? Im kind of standing between both options...hoping that when I need something I can come up with something at the time...I think once I decide on a 'villain/bad guy' I might have a better grip. Ive been doing some research into Appalachian/Cherokee folktales too, but they dont give me much in the way of a villain I can translate into modern times...
I would call what they are doing now a bit more like Abraham in Egypt but that might be even more obscure.
There are ways to get through the weekend.
I'm just sayin' is all...
yes
