Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Well...it would have been better diet-wise.
I have the screamin’ willies about this thing.
It borrows into ya.
Unless you're drunk or unconscious, there's no way a warble fly is going to lay an egg on you without your knowing it. The adult fly is large and has a very distinctive buzzing sound.
In All Creatures Great and Small, there was a half-witted farmhand whose great talent was imitating the sound of a warble fly. The vet loved having him around, because he didn't have to help cowboy the cattle into the barn for treatment -- at the sound of his fly imitation, they all came running into the barn to get away from the fly . . . . and got vaccinated or whatever instead.
I don’t like things that burrow into ya. And leave a little mouth hole for breathing.
I don’t like that even one little bit.
Now I must crack open my skull and sandpaper my brain to get rid of this imagery. Back later.
Heh... I’ve seen horse bot flies, though it’s been years. Used to get them on horses in high school, but haven’t had any here.
But the website said these kind don’t actually lay the egg on you, they lay the eggs near burrows and the animal just picks them up as they walk by.
Hey wait a minute... that happens to me all the time. I don't like the sound of this.
I don’t care for it myself.
And I know there’s more than one, because the same thing happened last week! But that one was real small.
And Corin thought the HH was slowing down. I think it’s too bad he’s missing this.
Democrats better beware, but I guess conservatives'll be all right.
(I think if you practice normal hygiene you should be just fine. )
I’m not sure a rather small fly larvae living under the skin with a breathing opening behind it is all THAT much better than a rather large one. :-\
Ramius, can ya pass me that sandpaper when you’re done?
You know what they say, if the Foo $#!+s . . . wear it.
You won’t find a topic more interesting than this anywhere.
Somehow, though, I don’t feel much like popcorn at the moment.
I am tempted to shave all the animals and look for more of these things!
Human bot fly larve removal. View after lunch.
