And this is just something I’d been thinking about for my own self whenever we get around to fencing at our place. If I was going to put up a web-wire type fence from scratch, I’d want to set the bottom of it at least 6 inches off the ground so you could weedeat under it if I needed to.

I mentioned what you said to my husband and he thinks that's a great idea.

The other thing though is I ASSUMED the hog wire would have an electric wire on top - not so, I'm told. hmmmm.....

I think I'd lobby pretty hard for that. Otherwise they'll eventually ride it down and you'll have a mess. Been there, done that.
