Well.. It’s sure quiet in here today.
Not much horsey happening, hope all is OK with everyone.
How is it going Becky?
This was part of the barn complex at the park stables...
One of the boarding barns there. They also rent horses...
Amy on Shane out front, followed by BladeRider...
The lake that we rode all around...
Amy, BladeRider and Kari at our lunch break...
BladeRider and Amy when we got back to the parking lot...
Blade’s all wet! Looks like he worked hard.
Gorgeous stables.
Could you get to the lake? I want to find a lake I can go in with a horse someday. Haven’t done that since I was in high school, and remarkably for all the water around here, none of the riding trails I know of nearby go by lakes!
Well, good morning! :~)
We have some snow... maybe an inch.
Ooops... Good morning to you too! :~)
We have some snow... maybe an inch.
Yeah, you could get down to the lake, so I’m assuming you could get in it if you wanted to. It might be a fun thing to try on a summertime trip down there. Maybe work it so that we took our lunch break by the lake, then could take the saddles off and take them for a swim too. But you’d need to take some kind of swimming clothes with you and find some place to change into them or you’d spend the rest of the day riding in wet clothes. I’ve done that before and it doesn’t bother me, but a lot of people ride in jeans and don’t like to ride in them when they’re wet because they end up giving you a galled butt and legs by the end of the day. My little jersey knit pants don’t do that.
Yeah - like anything else, in the fantasy, things like being wet the rest of the ride aren’t a problem. I’d make an event out of it if I knew where there was a lake I could get to.
I used to be able to swim my mustang because I kept him at a place on the lake. It was fun. Of course, I had a bikini body then :~)
They were ALL all wet. Those trails were STEEP! Poor ol' Bob had so much salt crusted on him by the time we got home that he looked like he'd been plastered. But he was more or less dry by that point so I gave him a good scrubbing with the brush and knocked most of it off. I'll get the rest of it this evening. I don't like to hose them off in the wintertime. That hose water is too darned cold!
Yeah - all we’ve got is cold hose water too... I look forward to the first bath of the season!
No kidding! When I washed my PT Cruiser last weekend, I had to bundle up in a slicker and fleece lined rubber boots and wear some of those yellow rubber kitchen gloves. I made my soapy water bucket with hot water from the tap, but the rinse water was straight from the ice cold hose.
It was 43 degrees outside then, so when I washed the car yesterday it felt downright balmy. I think it was 59 degrees.
The hose water was still cold, though!
Good morning.
Frog, that looks like a very nice place to ride. Beautiful barns.
Harley has been caked with dirt, I think since the ice storm.......but I find in interesting that dirt never cakes up on Rocky. He never looks dirty..?? I know he rolls, dirt just doesn’t stick to him.
I’m off to town today. Charlie and I have some official stuff we have to figure out....make an appointment with the accountant, get the bikes in my name so they can be sold, etc..
Becky
Cyn’s like that. Nothing sticks to her....she’s teflon. It makes me a little jealous because Bay is NOT teflon.
Have strength to get through the day... and we’ll be here when you get back. I’m about to head out and take some snow pictures and otherwise amuse myself while this snow lasts.
I’ll give you a call tonight:)
Becky
Good... I’ll be here... :~)
I don’t envy you with the official stuff. Dealing with accountants is bad enough, but dealing with lawyers is downright painful, in the pocketbook of course. I’ll bet that there’s a mountain of legal stuff that need taking care of when one loses a spouse. But just deal with what you can get done one day at a time and it’ll eventually all get done. It’s good that you’re already diving into it though. The sooner you get it all taken care of the sooner you can get get back to a more normal life.
Cool! Both figuratively and literally!
I think she is telling him to get up off his lazy duff and watch over her cause she wants a nap!
He did work hard, poor guy had to carry my big hiney up those steep hills! He also has a very curley winter coat and he looks wetter than the others. All of them were pretty sweaty after that hard ride.
