This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I got a note from Becky, I'll just copy it here:
Larrys funereal will be Thurs. at 2:00 (http://www.bixbyfuneralservice.com/). We will have a short memorial service at the the funeral homes chapel and then go to our building to eat and whatever...Im not doing a graveside...especially since its so cold. I have copied a few of the wonderful responses about him for the officiate to read as part of whatever he says...I wish it could be all of them:).We are all doing pretty good. The house has been full of people, but I slept last night very good, I still have a sore throat, but the bug Ive come down with seems to be holding off.
Thanks again for all the support.
Becky
Furthermore, she said in a later note that in addition to Larry, another local family friend has died this week... the wife of the people who own the saddle shop Becky likes. So her kids, who are close to their kids, have gone this afternoon to do something nice for that family that is also hurting.
And Becky had to go this afternoon get another crib collar for Rocky, he apparently lost it, they can't find it... and he was sucking air... So she didn't have time to post... So... if it's not one thing it's another.
You did that dyslexic thing with the post number again ;~)
Thanks for posting this, but the link you have for the funereal place takes me to a private message I received from ksen????
Where does it take you?
Becky
It takes me right to a private message too.
Oh how weird... I think the way I used my little ‘make link’ tool, it just goes to a numbered message in our FRMail... I get the one 2J sent me letting me know what the link was... the one I copied it from.
OK disregard my hyperlink.... copy/paste the text of the link!
Thanks tuffy :~)
You’re welcome.
I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sorry I was not more timely in hearing of Mack's difficulties. I just got the news yesterday and I have been (and am) out of the country.
Mack was a good man, and had the courage of his convictions. I know we were just internet friends (or arguing partners), but I did respect him greatly.
I'll pray for you and your family.
It is..poor little dog :’)
You think he looks trapped? :~)
No.. not trapped. Resigned to a cat that is going to have it’s way:’)
Awwww, how cute! They look like bestest buds to me, and they kinda match too.
You mean there's any other kind of cat?! ;o)
Well, it’s bitter cold this morning (17) so we decided to give the horses a hot mash, brought the grain in last night and boiled some water this morning.
I screwed up though, I though maybe I could slip Bay a couple bute tabs in his... I did yesterday and he ate it, I figured he’d eat it again. He ate about half of it and then stole Cyn’s... Cyn stole the pony’s, and since I didn’t think the pony needed grain full of isoxuprine and bute, I dumped Bay’s out and she only got to lick the bucket.
Oh well... I think the pony got enough of her own while I was trying to keep them separated. Poor pony. It’s rough bein’ low man.
I guess I can fool Bay once... but not twice.
Poor pony:)
Good morning, we are at about 17 here today also, but it’s suppose to warm up to the 40’s.
My brother made it in town yesterday, I’m meeting him and my dad for supper tonight.
Becky
You’re still in our hearts and in our prayers.... we will never lose sight of you. And REMEMBER, neither will the Lord NOR your Beloved.
