Well, I’d be peeved too. How does it look now?
Still looks pretty cruddy, but the swelling has at least gone down some. I tried touching it yesterday and he’s still kinda ouchy about it, but not quite as much as he was Friday morning. I’m going to try to see if I can sponge it off with some warm water this evening. The Granulex I’m spraying on there is adding to the gunkiness, so it really needs to be cleaned off. I don’t know if he’ll let me shave it or not. He’s not a real big fan of the clippers anyways. I did manage to trim his beard yesterday but he wasn’t real thrilled about it.
Well, that’s why you wanted him sedated... so it could be cleaned up safely. Be careful... it’s a fairly precarious place to try to treat.
Yeah, I probably really need to get somebody to help me and just put a twitch on him. I hate to do that, but sometimes it’s necessary. But then again, this may not be one of those times. I think it may just look worse than it is, and will probably heal just fine on it’s own, so I may just keep up with the antibiotics and leave it alone. This battle may not be worth fighting.
I’ve never seen twitches work as promised... I don’t think I know how to do it right. Well, hopefully it will just heal on it’s own... I mean... yes, it probably will heal no matter what, but we had to have it be more scarred than it would have to be.
Have you taken any pics of it?
Good morning. Any word yet on Mack?
I have not heard anything...
I spent most of the day yesterday at the barn with my hubby, trying to straighten up the mess he made of my hay on Saturday. There was 3/4 of a roll in the ring when he moved it to get to the rolls of cow hay that were behind it in the barn. I knew there would be trouble when that hay got put in there, because at least with just my hay in there, the old roll was always going to be gone before you needed to get to another one, but with the cows needing hay, you just never know. And once you take the strings off of a roll of hay and then they start eating off of it, it just kinda fills the ring up. And if you take the ring off...well, it's just kinda like taking a corsett off of a fat lady...things just kinda go everywhere, and trying to get it back in the ring is just pretty much impossible. Plus he didn't get the ring back in the right place, so the corral panels didn't fit back together like they should so I had horses getting into an area that I really didn't want them in. I didn't say anything to him about it when I got back from riding on Saturday afternoon because it was pouring down rain, but I really half expected the whole place to be in a shambles when I got down there yesterday morning. But luckily they weren't, and we finally got it fixed back well enough that the panels went back where they should so I let it go at that.
But I did get some other work out of him while he was there. I had some stall mats that needed cutting off with the sawsall, so we did that. Then I got him to install the heater that I bought last year in the water trough. No more busting frozen water troughts for me! So all's well that ends well I guess.
Thanks.
It’s not easy to cut stall mats... even with a sawsall... we’ve done it!
Heh... I can imagine that you aren’t supposed to move those hay rings once there’s a bale in them.
I’ll certainly let you all know if I do hear... I’d call but I don’t want to interfere, I have no idea what time things are supposed to happen, and I just hope she lets us know when she can.
Yeah, those suckers are thick and tough. It gave the sawsall a hard time. I was glad I had ear plugs!
And the hay ring thing, it weren’t pretty. There’s 2 more rolls of that hay left in there, so hopefully the next time I need to put out a roll for the horses we can move those on out somewhere and that’ll be the end of that. And I sure do hope my FIL doesn’t do that again this year. I think he was thinking that I could just use that hay for the horses too and we’d just use it up until we worked our way back to mine, but his hay wasn’t as good as mine. It had a lot of weeds in it and it was kinda moldy/dusty in the middle so I didn’t want to feed it to the horses, but I couldn’t get to my hay because his hay was in front of it. So we had to rearrange hay every time I needed a roll, and I know that they all think that I’m just being a pain, but dang-it, I don’t want my horses eating that stuff. They caused the problem, so they just have to deal with it.
No, don’t call. I’m sure she will let us know as soon as possible, or call you. Praying all is well.
You are in my thoughts and prayers today, my friend.
Do you work at the same hospital where BigMack is having his surgery?
But then Gary just had to put this boggin I found on the trail on her...
Then she had to model his outback hat...
And she was such a good sport about it. She just stood there and looked around at everybody like "Does this hat make my butt look big?"
Isn’t she a good sport! I have to say I like the outback hat look the best ;~)
I just went out and got Bay moving again and I was really thrilled with how good he felt. He ~bucked~. He almost never bucks. ;~)
Yeah, the boggin kinda made her look like a cone-head.
But that’s GREAT news about Bay’s feet! Hopefully he’s on his way to being his old self again. I just hate it that it happened at all.
actually that last post was to you, I really wasn’t intending to be talking to myself...
OKAY... I didn't want to interrupt... ;~)
