This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Good morning.
No snow yet, but it is raining. Basically a very dreary day.
Nothing else much to report.
Becky
Dreary. I’m well familiar with that. Raining here too.
Going up to the beach house today for the tree decorating that was postponed last week.
Sounds like fun. I may try to get the tree up tomorrow.
It’s snowing now:(...Coming down pretty good, but I don’t think it will stick much.
Becky
I know! But those around me were one young, surly, tow truck driver, two lanes of p!ssed of motorists and me. I thought about it, believe me, but I was afraid that I would be stoned! ;-)
Well, the more important question is “how does it feel” rather than “how does it look”. If it feels really hard and thick, like a tube of sausage laying up there, then that’s not a good thing. Another thing to look for are fat pads in the hollows above the eyes and behind the shoulder blades. But having a blood glucose level drawn couldn’t hurt anything either.
LOL!! I'll bet that was fun! You'd have a bird's-eye view of everything that's for sure.
I got Tennessee and Hope trimmed this morning. And I tried a different approach this time when trying to remove the clinches on her shoes. I just used one of my old dull rasps, and BOY was that easier than the Dremmel Tool. I took 8 or 10 strokes on each side of each foot and those clenches were GONE. Then the shoe removal was a piece of cake with the shoe-pullers. I'm learning all kinds of handy tricks over on that AbrasiveHoofTrim group. And of course I used the grinder to finish them off and that's a real back-saver too. The only drawback is that you end up with hoof dust all over you and you end up smelling like nasty horse feet. Peeeeyeeeew!
And just as I was finishing up, a cold front was moving in and bringing some rain with it. So I fed everybody a little early and headed for the house and got a shower. Now I'm fixing to start decorating my tree in ernest. Then I've got to wrap all the presents that go over to my in-law's because we're doing our Christmas dinner over there tomorrow instead of on Christmas Day. That way all the ones who have so many other places to go on that day won't have to be so rushed trying to make an appearance at everybody's place.
Seasonh 3 is out? Gotta buy myself a Christmas present:’)
Yesterday we went up and decorated the beach house for Christmas... mostly. We dawdled a lot and didn't do the outside or all the usual inside decorations yet, we'll see if we get around to it. - Or Dona does :~D OK either way, and Barkley posed by the fireplace looked cute enough for a picture :~)
Be careful out there... and bring the camera, in case you get stuck again ;~)
Shot Christmas tree lights are one of the most aggrivating things there are. You can spend hours working your way down a string with a spare bulb trying to figure out which one is the bad one. I’ve got a string of net lights that I put on a big grapevine wreath outside on the front of the shed and about half of them aren’t working but I sure as heck ain’t gonna sit there and work my way through all of those! It’d be my luck I’d miss one and then wind up at the end and still be no closer to fixing it than when I started. New ones sound like a good idea to me too!
Gorgeous decorations Hair! I finally got my tree finished last night. I’ll take a picture of it this evening when the light from the window it’s in front of doesn’t glare it so much.
Hello,
CD...yeah, Season 3 came out on the 11th:).
Hair..lovely decorations:)
It warmed up here very nicely today, and we saw the sun:)...It is supposes to be nice all week. I didn’t get my tree up today...slept most of the day.
Becky
Spent most of the day sleeping here too. I’m glad it’s warming up there, just wish you hadn’t sent the cold weather my way :)
Are you watching Season 3 for the first time, or did you watch it live?
