Yeah, the tree in the garden is standing all back up nice and straight.

That’s all the pictures I have right now. I’ll try to get some more today when we go thru town.

Well, it’s going to be a lot of work to clean up.... good time to call in help from the kids eh?

I’m just glad you have power back, roughing it loses it’s appeal in a hurry and I was worried about ya. Good luck today.

Good Evening everyone!

Looks like the storm system that Becky had has come our way. We're getting over 2 inches of snow an hour. We already have 7" on the ground, and it's still going strong. By the time we're done, we'll probably have over a foot. Already been out with the snowblower, and it was coming down as fast as I was blowing it away! The highways are solid bumper to bumper traffic. No one is moving. I left that training class early, and got slammed on my way home, but was lucky enough that the roads weren't too bad. At that point, (around 2) the roads that were bad were the back roads and main roads.

A few pictures I took today going thru town. They aren't good, I was in the back seat of Charlies truck, so i couldn't open the window, and he has tint on them, but you can still get a feel for how it looks.

This is the property that is on the left after you turn off the highway to come to my house...not sure you will remember the one I'm talking about, they had a nice big pecan grove. The road curves around it on one end...

This is the where the pumpkin patch was...sorry, I took this out the back window and it has defrost strips in it.

This is the pecan grove out on the highway, catacorner from the pumpkin patch.

A front yard of a house out on the highway.

Gads what a mess. The grove out by the highway is the one by the sign, right?

Your trails are going to be quite a mess for awhile aren’t they? Can you organize a work party with saws or will you just be fighting your way through it for awhile?

I’ll have to fight my way thru...the hunter guy next door might clear the trail that takes you to his hunting field...the rest will just be up to me most likely...I’ll just find ways around.

I was telling mack just yesterday it will be interesting to see how bad they are. Not sure when I’ll find out tho. Might be awhile.

I’m not going anywhere until tomorrow morning. I’m gonna stay where it’s warm, safe and dry!

I just went out and tried to video tape the horses. The pony was throwing and absolute FIT. Just bucking her little heart out, rearing, rearing on Cyn, tossing her head... just pitching a major fit trying to get someone to play with her. Of course, as soon as I go out there, she quit, for the most part, so I missed it. Did get to observe Bay moving around a bit though, while I was out there I decided to move him a little and see how he feels. I’ve been so worried about his feet, and since the shoes were pulled he’s been mostly standing around, so I’ve been worrying that he’s not better but the weather’s been crappy so they’ve ALL been mopey.

He is a little better, I think, but still not right. Tender footed, I hope is all. I’m just still not sure of what’s the exact best thing to do for him. I’m just sick that I did this to him.

Haven’t been on in awhile and need some help...the new horse I got is really broad and I ordered a quarter horse bar synthetic saddle......it is a joke ,,,,way too tight. Abetta has an extra wide saddle with quarter horse bars...do you think that would work....
I hate to keep ordering saddles..

Ack... saddle fitting!

Can you get him to a saddle shop where they can try a bunch of trees on him? That’s really the surest way to know what’s going to fit.

Good Morning everyone!

Recovering from the storm. Last night the roads were so bad that the evening commute traffic was stranded. School buses with kids who had been let out early, didn't get the kids dropped off until 7:00 pm or later! Part of 495 North was shut down as well. The roads are still a mess this morning, so the commute will be... interesting!

Wow! George is in REALLY good condition for a 20 year old horse in those pictures. We have a 31 year old mare at my barn, lately she’s started to LOOK it, but she’s still going strong and thinks that she’s about 20 years younger. She gives the other mares a run for their money when they go bucking and farting around the pasture.

Oh lord, saddle fitting. I’d do as Hair suggested as well and go to a tack shop instead of ordering. It’ll save you the headache. Another thing that you could do is take one of those flexi sticks and trace his withers with it. Then trace the measurement on a piece of paper and then take it to someone.

WOOOOOOOW!! It looks like a tornado went through there! Those poor trees look so sad. They were so pretty before. Thanks for posting the pics.

...I’m just sick that I did this to him.

Don't beat yourself up for it. You did what you thought was best for him. You had no idea that the new guy didn't know what he was doing. But luckily, feet are very forgiving and he should be fine after a couple of good trim cycles, unless there's some underlying physiological problem that brought this on to start with. And it may just be that his age is finally starting to catch up with him a little bit. But hopefully leaving him barefoot for a while and a couple of good trims will have him feeling all chipper again.
