This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Mastiffs are cool! Slobbery, but cool. ;o)
Good morning there... :~)
Here’s a curious thing I noticed yesterday, but then couldn’t re-create when I had the camera.
Pony was standing resting in the stall with one back leg cocked, but the weird part is she was bringing the cocked foot around the other side of her other foot.
She looked like a lady crossing her ankles. It wasn’t an accident, she turned around and switched legs and did it again.
Of course, when I got the camera, she didn’t want to rest either one. I ran her around a little and she ran and trotted and bucked around like normal. She’s completely sound on it, nothing really wrong with the hoof either.
I’ll be watching her to do this again so I can get a picture.
But on a brighter note....
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
That’s funny about Pony crossing her legs. I’ll bet she looked cute. Of course she always does.
Oh, I’m so sorry:(...
Happy Halloween to you too.
Becky
LOL....well she is a little lady:)
Looking forward to a picture.
Becky
Ack. Well... I hope the strike ends quickly.
So you don’t think the leg crossing is a strange symptom of something? You know how I worry :~)
Hey, check out this Carve a pumpkin site. I'm not very good drawing lines with a mouse, but it's pretty fun.
No, I wouldn't think it was anything.
Becky
OK ladies... thanks. If she decides to to it again, I’ll get a picture. :~)
LOL!! I remember that scene, but can’t remember the name of the movie. What was it?
Unfortunately with Jane Fonda in the title role, but Lee Marvin was great as the washed-up gunslinger Kid whatever-his-name-was. He also played the villain.
It's a Wonderful Life is my fave of the Stewart movies. A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim may be the best though.
. . . hey, it's Hallowe'en! What we doin' thinkin' about Christmas already, for pete's sake!
If you haven't seen A Christmas Carol with Alasdair Sim, rent it. It's the same message, but a little less cloyingly presented.
I did see that one and it was very good. Of course my favorite version is the one with Mr. MaGoo. ;o)
I’m very proud of Mina today. She did walk/trot/canter, with a saddle, no bucking. She did do a bit of tail-tucked bolting when she first hit that canter but settled down pretty quickly. I expected her to break in two but she didn’t.
I also stood next to her, held on to the saddle and jumped up and down, simulating mounting. She was concerned at first but never moved. Then we went walking around all my Halloween decorations and farm equipment, she never even looks twice at that stuff. It’s a little disconcerting. I think she’s saving the big reaction for when she sees bicycles. They totally freak her out and she panics when she sees one of my kids riding one.
