This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Glad yall had an easy trip back. The wind came in howling here about 1pm. Around 2 it was cold and damp. Now it’s just warm air blowing. I had to pick my granddaughter up at school. (running a fever) She said her teacher told her it would snow tomorrow. I think she misunderstood and is going to be disappointed.
Looks like you dodged a bullet with the weather. I loved the pictures and the gaiting video. Thanks for sharing. I missed the ping list this morning because I had my first day at work today and had to be at the company headquarters by 8:30. It was an hour drive one way. Then once I finally got back to the field site where I work, they sent me out to Seekonk to get safety shoes. I had a choice between ugly and ugliest... I chose ugly! They had to be steel toed, static resistant and oil/slip resistant. That narrowed the field down to two different pairs of shoes. I was hoping for a pair that looked like sneakers, and tried to bribe the sales girl, but she wouldn’t budge... That was another 30 minutes out, and 30 minutes back. I was very tired and hungry by this point, not to mention that I got lost getting there, because it was very twisty and turny, but for some reason it was a straight shot going home. All in all I drove 140 miles. My regular hours will be 7-3:30, which makes it really great in the afternoon, especially in the summertime! I won’t have any computer access, which makes me kind of sad, but oh well.
I’m back in the house now and looking back over the last few day’s pictures and posts when I really noticed the next to last cook-out picture with me sitting in that chair looking about 3-sheets to the wind with 4 beer cans right next to me. So I just wanted everyone to know that..
1. I wasn’t drunk, I was mello.
2. Those weren’t all my beers
I did have a couple, but the other two were Becky’s!
Don’t mean to sound like an airhead, but does 2J have a car in her living room or living area, or whatnot? Or is that just a finished garage?
Oh man Duchess, I LOVE the PropertyDefenderPumpkin! That’s cool!!!
LOL! I think that’s a great picture of you! You look happy. :-D
She was a very good horse! Tell Jenny to give her a treat for me!
My butt is hardly sore at all today!
No, it’s basically a metal pole barn that we finished. It’s sheetrocked and has a dropdown type ceiling, heating and air, carpeted on one side. It has a couch and a recliner and even a iMac computer out there.
But it’s just a shop. We intended to someday use it as our school house, but were too lazy to traipse out there every day to do school.
The dining room table is just so much closer!
So now it holds my car. It does make for a deluxe and comfortable place to work on a car!
Blade had about an hour and 45 minutes more to get home. It rained on us pretty hard from shortly after we left Okmulgee, where we stopped at the McDonald’s to get a biscuit, to about 7:30. We stopped in Little Rock for fuel at a Wal-Mart and had lunch at an Arby’s and let the horses eat and rest. BladeRider drove from there until we got on Hwy 72, just this side of Memphis. It rained some off and on during that time, but not hard. I took over driving again and drove the rest of the way to my place, and of course it POURED, but we made it fine. The horses were fine when we let them out at my barn, but my BIL had just fed his pigs, who’s pen is right by the driveway, and they were squealing to beat the band. We had to let Blade out first to get the girls out and he was going nuts standing there tied to the trailer so BladeRider had to un-tie him and take him a little farther away while I took the girls down to the pasture gate. She tried to load him back up while I did that but he was having no part of that so she just held him and let him circle. Then when I got back we sent him in the trailer, but all he did was jump in, turn around and run right back out, then take off for the pasture gate I’d just turned the girls out through, with his tail flipped straight up over his back and trotting and snorting for all the world like a crazy A-rab horse. ;o) It was right funny! But we caught him after a couple of laps around the garden and got him in the trailer the next time without TOO much trouble and headed on to my house. When we got him out there, he came out just trembling, rolling his eyes and breathing like he’d run a mile, looking for those horse-eating-pigs. Poor little bugger, his little lips were tight as a fish’s butt, but he calmed down and loaded right up in Carolyn’s trailer once he saw that they weren’t there. LOL!! Horses can be so silly sometimes!

I’m glad y’all got Dot back home. It was pretty miserable out there this morning. I don’t blame her for being glad to be home!
Yeah, I don’t imagine y’all get snow all that often! ;o)
NO one drank enough anytime to be noticeable!!

Becky
Yeah, I know what you mean about the safety shoes. I’ve got some too and I call them my BUS-es...Butt Ugly Shoes. ;o) That’s a bummer about the lack of internet access, but at least you’ve got a good job close to home. Hey, you can’t have everything! We’ll miss you during the day, but you can catch up at night.
LOL!! No, that's her shop, but I think if she REALLY had her way, it would be in her livingroom. She LOVES that car!
Becky
So are my posts more interesting now with all the exclamation points, and bold, and italics:) I didn't realize my posts were so monotone:)...!!!!LOL!!!
Jenny will be happy to hear you liked her horse!!
Becky
LOL!! Your posts were fine the way they were. I never really even noticed it until Hair said something, but you know we had to ragg you about SOMETHING.
I'll bet BigMack will be glad to get a good night's sleep without having all those strange women in his house!
Well, my hubby's home so I better go say hi to him. After all, he DID bring me a pizza for supper! See y'all tomorrow...
