This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Coming home, the wind was out of the South, so I had cross winds. At least, I got better mileage.
Those pumpkins are so cool! What fun to carve them.
Who is that on the dun horse, Jenny?
I love the pictures I can see :) I’m having some kind of problem with the internet here this morning and can only get about half the ride pictures to load. I’ll be able to see them all later though I think when I can get a faster more consistant connection.
I think Al Gore is wrong - we're headed into another ice age.
Actually, it has been very nice here. Temps in mid 70’s and lows in the 50’s. Lots of sun. The trees are just beautiful now. Still lots of green, but the ones that have colored, stand out.
Bob had surgery two weeks ago for kidney stones and within the week ended up in emergency with a raging infection. I finally got him home Wednesday (four days in emergency observation) but he's pretty beat so I'm trying to make sure he doesn't overdo. The infection wouldn't respond to Cipro at all so after two days they finally put him on another one IV and that seemed to work. He's just on antibiotics for another five days now, and next Wed. will finally get the shunt in his kidney/bladder taken out. I swear doctors will be the death of us - need to get myself retired and work on getting him healthy.
I took the camera but my batteries were dead! It’s really too bad because I went on a trail ride with a couple of the other ladies from the barn and everyone was out enjoying this beautiful weather. It’s in the 70s. We came across two huge groups on horseback. Not sure where they were from. One group was all paint horses. When we get to the New Place, we have plans to do an all day trail ride and pack a picnic lunch.
We just got back from breakfast and the Pumpkin patch :~)

We also stopped at a welcome to Bixby sign and Blade was trying to set her camera on the truck with the timer set so we could all be in the picture.

Fortunately, a friend of mine came up, and we got him to take the picture.

And I caught Hair posing:)

You are doing such a good job pinging in the morning, I think you should continue doing it! We can all take turns...thanks!
Very nice. Glad you had fun.
~waves~
It’s a cool and grey, but so far non-rainy day here. Puttering around the house, doing dishes and cleaning up the desk and like such as. ;^) Looks like you’ll be getting back in time for some pretty nice weather this week.
Well that worked out good for me then... the weather here is supposed to turn cold and wet as soon as I leave. ;~)
Prayers for Bob, and you, and the ice on the water troughs. I sure hope Bob feels better soon :~)
I can take over doing it for awhile. I don’t mind. I missed a couple of days because of the weekend.
Sure looking forward to having you home... I can’t handle all these critters on my own for much longer.
Gidget is still obsessed by the kitchen heater vent, to the point of ripping the linoleum. I now have it covered up by a couple of heavy boxes.
In addition to the poo problems, Barkley has peed by the front door a couple of times. I’ve scrubbed it as best I can, but there is still some odor. I need to go to Ace and get some carpet cleaner today.
And on top of all that, Homer is now licking himself raw on the inside of his front legs.
~sigh~
Oh dear... Poor honey. We don’t deserve neurotic dogs, really we don’t!
I don’t get the Barkley potty issues. He’s not still pottying inside when you’re home is he? Is that from last week? Tomorrow, just put him in the Ranger I guess.
They sell a real good product at Petsmart for biological smells. It’ll kill it if nothing else does.
And I’ll be home tomorrow night!
I just got back from riding Blade... they got me on a gaited horse :~)
~Hair
How did you like the gaited horse?
I really enjoyed riding them a whole lot. It was just very different. Here is a link to watch the three of us, we got Hair on one today.

2J was attacked by a pelican:)

And as we came out of the restaurant we saw a trapeze set up and people taking a class on how to do it.

It was a lot of fun, and now we are all full and sleepy:) Frog and Blade have packed up soem of their stuff to get ready to leave early in the morning.
