This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I’m around, sometimes! Hope you two are well!
Well here and retired. And down to two horses although we own half interest in Tuffy’s filly and she is here. Lace is still here but has been sold and will be going to California so we will just have Prez and Indy and Dreams while she is being shown until we find a buyer for her.
Doing lots of gardening and canning.
Very good.
Bay and Cyn are well and think they’ve been retired. We were so busy this summer we didn’t ride more than a few times. Glad we bought this place with so many trails to ride, LOL
We’re hosting Thanskgiving here for about a dozen so we’re about to be getting seriously ready for that. It’s stormy out and I’m trying to figure out if I’m *really* quitting smoking this time. Probably not, with Thanksgiving guests coming, so I’ll probably venture out to the store in a bit.
It feels like a long ways in stormy weather...
I love your new place. That would have been Bob’s and my dream place twenty years ago.
Weather predictions are serious storms here for this week-end so you must be on the leading front of them. Snow predicted here to the valley floors with several inches of accumulation.
You will quit smoking when you WANT to. I guess eventually I will too, but not yet. I bought wild tobacco seeds to plant next year, along with lots of herbs for a herb garden. Maybe I’ll mix and roll my own :)
Wohooo!!! This is cool! I hope we are all still around! I htink I disappeard for 3 or 4 years.
Hi everybody!!!!!
BIG WAVE
Hi :)
Watching "Geraldo" last night, he mentioned FR and its influence on Bristol Palin on DWTS, so I thought I would check it out. Low and behold, there were posts to me. Missed all you guys
Hair and I are friends on FB and I do check out the Baywind forum on occasion hope everyone is doing well.
I need to check into Baywind again. My computer crashed and I’m just finding all of my favorites again. I am on FR everyday for news so I see the pings here.
Hope all is well with you. I’ve retired and am learning to live on no money :) Down to 2 1/2 horses.
Hey Duchess and Miss Targets! :)
Hey :) Have a great Thanksgiving.
:O) You too! I work half a day for Thanksgiving, but at least I get the best part of the day off!
Hey, thanks for the ping. Good to see some are still around.
Pardon my interuption. It may not be my place to tell you this because Her husband may get upset with me. Janis did not reply to your questions because she was ill when she wrote the message about her dog. Janis passed away Christmas day of 2010. Please keep her husband and children in your prayers.

I just came to check this thread to see if any of the members of the saddle club that are in the tornado areas had checked in. I am so very sorry to hear about CindyDawg. She was much loved.
I just wanted to check in to see if everyone was okay after all of the severe weather, if any of you are still on FR, please ping me just to let me know you’re okay.
I’m in touch with them on facebook.
Frog and Blade are OK I think - was scary and the power’s out, but they checked in OK. Some damage to trees at Blade’s, but not severe.
Kari (their friend.... don’t remember if she had a FR handle or not!) was hit a little closer, her house is fine but a couple neighbor’s houses are gone, horses were hurt and at least one died. Her own horses are OK but some barn and fence damage. They had one pasture intact so everyone is secure for now.
Not a lot of updates today, I imagine they’re busy and still with limited power, updating only with their phones.
I guess I should say I’m in touch with some of them on facebook, that I know are in AL... not sure I remember who else is down there!

Thanks, that’s good to know. I’m on Facebook but don’t have ccntact with anyone from this thread. I have been shocked and worried with the weather in the south. I don’t remember anything like that when I lived there.
