This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Well, I got Rocky rode for about an hour. Only got misted on a little bit, and did fine. He actually walked a little bit faster then I remember him walking before. Maybe the 2 year break was good for him:)

Those people on the forum.horse.com site are nutty and amazingly arrogant. Did you see the thread where people posted pics of themselves? One lady said, “look at me, don’t I look young? I’m 52 and no gray hair!” That and the teen pics with the come hither looks and very short skirts, ugh. If I caught my kids posting pics of themselves on the www looking like that I’d strangle them.
Agreed. Open up any room to the public, and half the people who come in will be a little nutty :~)
The lady called Bob this morning and said the pictures I sent didn't look like the same horse as the one in the ad. She was dusty but I told the lady that. Anyway, Bob bathed her today and I took more pictures tonight and emailed them to her, along with telling her I'd put her check back in the mail to her tomorrow.
Bob is obviously not as p*ssed as I am. I'm probably using this as an excuse because I felt uncomfortable talking to her last night before I sent the pictures. She didn't want to give me her full name and address.
She backed out of the sale because the horse is dirty?

I will admit I used one of her poorer pictures in the ad because I'd rather see the others first but she still looks like the same horse.

Heh... you know she’s changing so much she does look different. I can sortof see why she’d ask. If you aren’t sure then come look... don’t buy from a picture.

Duchess, sorry to hear your sale didn't go through. CJ does look a little darker in the first and last picture. She sure is pretty.

Something I forgot to tell you about yesterdays ride on Rocky:)
I’ve been wondering how Harley would do being left here by himself. I cannot remember that ever happening. He did fine:). I watched him as I went up the fence line and he just stood in the center of his pasture and watched us go. I looked back one time when we were past my property and he had walked off in the other direction to graze. I never heard him holler, and when we came back he ignored us as we went back down the fence line.
This is a big relief. You know I never worried about that problem in the past till I met you, and read all the stories of the people on the HF who have problems leaving one by themselves. Seems to me once you learn there is potential for a problem, you’re going to have it. LOL....I figured he was going to kill himself going over the fence and landing on a post.

Terrific about Harley... maybe he thinks “Ah - she’d makin’ someone else work for a change!”
Well, it’s probably something I needed to know about:) that there was potential for a problem. I probably handled it wrong, thought about it as I was going up the fence line. I probably should have locked him in his run so he couldn’t get to the perimeter fence, and couldn’t get up such a head of steam....but then, you know that could have made it worse...at least he had gazing to distract him and keep him busy.
One other thing I am going to test before everyone gets here is how Harley and Rocky do going out together. I’ve never had a problem with either being a problem going out with other horses, and these two seem to have come to a truce, but I know they hated each other before....I don’t know of the truce is just a truce because they have no choice, but given the chance to get to each other it could be called off:)...I really don’t think so. But I’m going to have Jenny come up and her and I will go out together on them and see.

You know I just remember Harley and Rocky have been out together, when Heather use to come ride with me. So there’s that. I think I still will have Jenny come and go out just as a refresher for Rocky.
