If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Wonderful, very thoughtful of your son to see to Mother’s comfort. It is just great you can rest your back and enjoy movies.
Ah, so nice the memories of when the children were young. The wonderful thing about memories is-we always have them.
To: Soaring Feather
Indeed..I am always interested in hearing how they remember these times..They surprise me with what they loved best at times.

I find this to be true for me as well, to hear my kids memories of events, etc., and every child has their own set of memories. I find that with my brothers as well. They remember things is a different light than I, or don't remember some events at all.
One of my daughters just loves my fried chicken and I remember the way she expressed it as a child. So dear to me. ;0)
When the family was at home I used to do tons of baking, especially when fresh berries were in season. We would pick them and I would do the magic of turning them into cobblers and desserts -always a big hit with them.
To: Soaring Feather
I would have loved being there for your cobblers!

The beauty of a Summer's day begins Watching the bright, morning sun rise, Dew upon the lawn and roses, And the early flight of colorful butterflies.
The beauty of a Summer's day Is an attractive and picturesque one, A sky of a variable color of pale to light blue, And sport and entertainment for everyone.
The beauty of a Summer's day Is stetched with green foliage on the hill, And colorful wildflowers bordering the roadway, The water wheel turning at the grist mill.
The beauty of a Summer's day increases Watching the rolling waves of the ocean, Sea shells washing upon the sandy shore, And gazing at the sea gulls gliding in slow motion.
The finality of a Summer's day Is depicted with memorable scenes Of picnicking, camping, swimming, and traveling, Reserved for Summer enthusiasts for future dreams.

A Summer Day it is indeed, blue skies, warm sun, moderate temperatures -really perfect.
I am not ready to abandon Summer so quickly
just because the calendar says September
Summer has lifted her cape of color in
country landscapes, along roadsides
and left the delicious smell of warm leaves
Finches darting about the neighbor's feeders
they deserted mine... but I forgive them
the seed is probably fresher over the fence.
In apple orchards the drops are buzzing with honey bees
the sun has warmed their furry backs, while they gather,
gather nectar on their tongues, and backs
adding to the hive....the stash every growing,
growing in amber color and depth
the ambrosia of the honey bee,
a wealth and richness of goodness
healing properties for mankind.
I shall not wish to hurry Summer from
my mind, but hope to stretch out her richness,
until at least October's time.

I slept away the early hours
of this Labor Day
now in laborious chains I must,
drag myself around today!
To our troops who never shrink
from their laborious task
thank you all for your steadfast
honor and dedication to your task.
You keep the enemy at bay,
away from our homeland shores
true heroes in my heroes book
your protection of our land
to keep Old Glory flying free
in our Republic and Democracy,
America the Land of the Free is both.

Good morning ladies. Today I plan to relax, be lazy and let the OLD battery charge up. After I came home from the site yesterday, I did very little but kick back. I overslept for me this morning 9:15 and am now drinking the first of many cups of Columbian coffee. The sun is shining here and have no idea what the temperature is. Maybe I will stick out my head later on today. Calli is in the corner asleep. Have to go and wake her up. Hope that all is going well this day for everyone.

Good to hear you are planning a kick back day—about time. ;0)
Awwwwww, let Calli sleep, she didn’t wake you! LOL

Am listening to an assortment of New Age music (Delerium, Enigma, Kitaro and such) and of course Yanni. Very relaxing. Do you have any special doings today?

No plans today, I do hope to do more writing, inspired by the season and warm weather. Nice musical selections you have chosen. Yanni is most enjoyable. I can go to the music channels I have on the box and listen to New Age music, I do that sometimes. It is calming. Allows one to redirect their thoughts to ethereal things.

Well I just couldn’t leave well enough alone. I woke up Calli and proceded to brush her. She wasn’t the happiest creature when all was said and done. So now she has gone into seclusion. Oh well! Pretty soon she will be up on her perch watch the birds and other 2 legged beings in the swimming pool.

It takes about 48 ounces of coffee before the brain really starts to focus. I read all of the beautiful poetry that was posted today. Makes one wonder where the time has gone to. It just seemed like yesterday we were celebrating a New Year and of course the coming of Spring and with wild anticipation Summer. One only has to look at their children and see how time has whizzed by.
