Please don't zot me for asking this, but what is a "click"? Such as "two clicks down that road"?

1 Klick is a kilometer. Thus 2 klicks would be 2 kilometers

It isn’t a dumb question if you don’t know. People will flame you around here just for fun sometimes, so don’t take it too personally...;)

I don’t know, but whatever a click is, it is obviously Bush’s fault.

.6 of a mile. A mile is 1.6 clicks.
Ergo, a Kilometer is One click.
If you can divide by 4 you can handle this stuff in your head.

A klick is like when well y’know,
You’re working on the great American FR Post late at night after reminding yourself how good Maker’s Mark can be on a really hot day if you put a little sprig of mint in it and lots of ice.
And then, when you’ve checked the grammar and the spelling and made sure that every is balanced with a NOT a <?i> and it makes sense and the metaphors and analogies are clear and convincing and the rhetorical devastation of the fools who aren't smart enough to agree with you is going to just KILL them,
And then you click on POST
and then FR locks up. And you click again
and then your post disappears but bothing happens. A "click" in the horizontal aspect is the measure of how far away your cursing can be heard. In the vertical aspect it is how high your spouse would rise if there weren't a ceiling blocking her (or his) upward motion.
In the temporal aspect it is how long you are going to have to apologize for waking her (or him) (or whatever) up.

As others have said, a click is one kilometer.
As I recall from teaching map/chart reading many years ago- there was a handheld measurement tool - can’t remember if it was a compass or some other instrument that was a compass plus- that was calibrated in KM
when you turned the dial to measure distance between two points on the chart, it would make a “click” sound- hence, one click was one KM.

Why wouldn’t they use miles, especially in combat?
