It was not thought necessary to the majority of our forbearers throughout history, even during times of extreme Christian religious faith. Paul says it is no more necessary than following the dietary restrictions. He speaks of “spiritual-circumcision” which is probably less painful, although it wouldn’t convey the possible protection from penile cancer and STD’s.

They used to say “Those shorts were so tight you could tell a chaps religion”; because the majority of Gentiles were uncut.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate it. Some of the writings in the New Testament do open up interesting ground for discussion.
