I had never heard the masterbation claim either. Makes me shudder to think what my youth coulda have been like... ;)

Life is grand. For the gentlemen: I like lots of face and personality!

correlation does not equate to causation.

It's time to retire this tired old saying. Anyone who treats patients, especially in an ER, knows this is not the case. Sometimes all you've got is correlation and you have to run with it.

Yes, but why is it necessary?

It's not.

“Did I miss anything?”

Well, things do get pretty heated on the Catholic threads. Maybe you could throw something in there about that! Otherwise, I am very impressed! :0)

That’s an interesting anecdote and I’ll take your word for it, but since circumcision was routinely done on all males born in American hospitals, I have to wonder at the real number of 20 year olds who were uncircumcised in the 1960s. It can’t be as many as you imply. As a RN, I’ve seen plenty of elderly male parts over the years and men older than Vietnam vets were all circumcised.

Nope, I blew it. A breast-fed, circumcised Harry Potter swims the Rio Grande from Mexico in order to join General Sherman as a tattoo artist while he researches a book on evolution that will fund Rudy Giuliani's campaign to run for Pope on a UN-funded Gun Control ticket.

Whew!

I dunno, how many did I imply? I knew two, and they told of a whole ward full of them on the offshore hospital ship. Times X months X years of this seems to add up quite a bit.

There is a direct correlation between height and intelligence. Does being tall cause you to be smart?

Maybe we should give kids growth hormones to make them smarter.

They could have been Hispanic or any immigrant outside the U.S. Most of the Hispanic babies coming through the system are not circumcised. It’s not common practice in their country of origin.

Don’t go to work in an ER.

If you have the attitude you need definitive proof to make a decision you’ll end up with a bunch of dead patients.

I work in Science.

If it was assumed that correlation was causation it would be hard to determine what behaviors were INCIDENTAL to a situation and with were CAUSING that situation.

It is something that should never be forgotten when talking about the results of a scientific study, which is what this article is about.

It is never time to put to rest this essential truth.

But down in the trenches I agree that you don’t need a scientific study to draw correlations and conclusions based upon likely probability and past experience. But lets not raise anecdote to the level of a controlled study.

Correlation is not causation.

There is a direct correlation between my advancing years and the slowing in the rotation of the earth. Is the fact that I am getting older slowing the earth?

Guys I knew were anglo. What may be the kicker is section of the country they came from. A lot of country and southern boys served, maybe not as customary there.

Not to be gross, but one of the guys was more off than the typical Marine: he had them save the scraps in a bottle filled with alcohol.

Eunichs used to save their missing parts in a little bag so that they could be buried “whole”.
