I just hope Rhames learns a lesson from this and lets the dogs get aggression out by fighting them, like Mike Vick did.

When you have large dogs ( I have 2, each, in the 70-80 lb. range), one of the most important things to remember is not to give them aggression training.

That’s what you get from the press. They weren’t mastiffs. Period. The breed has one of the lowest recorded bite frequency surpassed only by the Bernese Mountain dog.
Mastiff’s bond with the people that care for them and will often interpose between them and others to prevent conflict, even rough play.
They are also known as couch potatoes.
More than likely they were either bull mastiffs or Canary Island dog crosses (Presa Canario), the fighting dogs that are crossed with mastiffs for size but are fierce fighters. It was these Pressario dogs that mauled to death Diane Whipple in San Francisco.
The dogs are the rich man’s version of the pit bull. But they weren't English Mastiffs like the picture earlier in the thread.
