I’m sure it’s perfectly legal for Mexicans to be bounty hunters in that country, looking for fugitives.

Good..I’m glad hes off their radar for now. Even though he’s a colorful character, I like Dog. I think that if he actually gets these people back on the straight and narrow, then he’s doing a good thing.
And I don’t for a minute think there’s a mean bone in his body. Maybe he’s trying to atone for his past sins.

Actually it’s not. The US is one of the few countries with legalized bounty hunting, and the only one in North America.

Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. But Mexico promoting illegal entry into the US is not.

Canada doesn’t like citizens hunting down citizens for money either. It’s actually pretty rare for countries to approve of bounty hunting, it is kind of a weird practice.

I found it amazing beyond belief that Mexico had any objections to Dog bringing this dirtbag in. You’d think they’d be glad to be rid of him no matter who took him down.
Hooray for the Dog!

Letters or marque are a little different, because your citizens are largely going to be hunting non-citizens. Though there are a lot of similarities. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but it is kind of weird for a basically unlicensed untrained person (some states have serious licensing requirements for bounty hunters, most don’t) to be empowered to go get somebody and haul them to court with no real paperwork or extradition or anything.

Funny thing: my wife saw Dog's wife in a bit of a road rage thing a week or so ago. Some guy in a pickup chasing her through traffic until a bike cop showed up and the guy took off.
Seems like Dog's wife is not the best person to be chasing/harassing.......although the local grapevine has it that she is a royal female canine, so might have provoked the guy. Hawaiians are like that.
