There actually is one legitimate use for them, i.e. hog hunting.

There are other animals you can use for hogs. Hounds are the traditional animal.

YEP - When a Lab, or Golden, or even a Shepard bite, they generally do just that - bite.

Pits and other dogs with genetics of fighting breeds lock on and try to kill. That is the whole point, and is why we don’t hear so much about other breed bites. It isn’t that those others don’t bite, it is that they bite less often, and when they do, it is almost always less damaging.

Yeah - what is a palentinian terrorist, and what do they have in common with a comment about Pit Bulls?

There actually is one legitimate use for them, i.e. hog hunting. Think we might could close some of the culture gap by turning wild hogs loose in the ghettos??

Except that even those dogs used for hog hunting should not be kept as "family pets". Hog Dogs are tools, and even though some can be "friendly", should NEVER be mixed with family, especially small dogs. Again - animals who's genetic purpose is to kill are not meant for a family pet, no matter how "sweet" it behaves.

Palestinian Terrorist are completely predictable - they will do whatever they can to cause as much problem and destruction as their feeble and hate-obsessed mind can engineer.

The actual manner or time of their attack may be semi-unpredictable, but that takes nothing away from the fact that they are just waiting to kill and maim.

Pit Bulls can actually be somewhat sweet acting - but they have the genetic disposition to kill that cannot be trained or loved completely out. A pit can go for many years without revealing any dangerous tendencies, or they can attack at a fairly early age. Then again, some never present their dangerous side in a serious manner. But it IS there...

I hope the child survives this. Boss Hog is no more.

I feel sorry for both the dog and the child. However, it sounds like somebody forgot their rabies shots. I've got more scars on my hands from my wife's Cockapoo then I've got from any other dog and I've handle more than a few. Would I keep a Pit in my house, yes and I have.

Perhaps a shark would have been a better pet. At least that would have been in a different environment.

You are almost totally correct. Pits do lock on and hold, that is the problem with them and where most of the damage comes from. As far as other dog bites go, they can be pretty damaging. Also, they can be just as deadly at times. It is true that you do not hear of other dog bites as often even though they do bite just as often and probably never will.

Your right about lopsided-asshole dogs (as I call them). However, when was the last time you heard of one ripping off someone’s head?

You may have hit on a ‘twofer’ solution. The Feds should round up all the ‘dog-fighting’ pit bulls and ship them to Iraq.

‘Pit-Bulls to Baghdad’ bite some boogahs;)

There's a reason people don't keep hyenas and tigers as pets (not legally, anyway)

Different rules on pets in Nigeria, I guess.

Only 2 good reasons to own a pit bull. 1) You need to protect a meth lab. 2) You are in the dog fighting industry.

3rd...or have a small penis.

Pit Bulls Terrorize Neighborhood

COVINGTON, Okla. (July 28) - A Garfield County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a pit bulldog that witnesses say attacked this town’s mayor and a little boy during a rampage with another dog.

Mayor Jim Postier, who is also an animal control officer, was hospitalized Friday after the dogs knocked him over and he hit his head on the asphalt road, authorities said. Postier was flown by medical helicopter to St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was treated for a cracked skull, his son, also named Jim Postier, said.

The boy who was menaced by the dogs was not injured.

An Arnett woman who was visiting a relative said she and her teenage children were held hostage behind a chain link fence for several hours while the dogs terrorized the area.

Denise Kibbe said a young boy, about 6 or 7 years old, was playing across the street when the dogs started running toward him. The boy tucked his knees under his body and put his hands over his head and sat still.

I was actually thinking of the hyena pic where the guy is walkling his "pet" right past some worried looking people.

Hyenas are amazingly nasty, as anyone who has watched them chase lions off a kill on one of those nature shows can attest.

Wow. What happened next? Did it work?

I love the tagline.
